Tournament Rules and Schedule:
This year the Olympics will be hosting a couple new tournaments, as well as many old and familiar favorites. I’m going to try to be brief on how the tournaments are to run and then give a tentative schedule for now of the fighting for the O’s
Melee Tournament Rules:
1. All matches are to be one vs. one, with no outside assistance allowed.
2. Matches are best two out of three individual fights.
3. byes will be given in the first round of the tournament to ensure that no byes will be given out in the final rounds
4. Tournament contestants will fight in a gladiator style ring watched by 2 heralds for each match.
5. weapon styles used in the tournament must match the tournament style exactly(ex. A blue/green weapon may be used in the single blue tournament but will only count as a blue weapon thrusts will be ignored)
6. Armor will not be counted in the tournaments.
7. after each round the contestants are to report their results to the tournament recorder
8. A polearm is defined as having a minimum length of six feet, and may be a green, red, green/red weapon
The above rules do not apply to the four hoursemen tournament, which will be 4 person teams, open weapon style open armor, and will be single elimination
Archery tournament
1. The Archery tournament will be shooting at targets set at 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 feet.
2. Each target is worth a point value, the farther away you shoot at the more points the target is worth
3. Contestants will fire 10 arrows, the contestant with the highest score wins
4. the tie breaking procedure will be explained at need in the tournament
5. Arrows must meet the requirements in the Dagorhir MoA
Champions Tournament:
This year the Olympics will feature a champions tournament. This is an open weapon style tournament, though armor is not allowed. The 8 people in the champions tournament are the winners of the single blue, blue and board, red, Florentine, polearm, dagger, and archery tournaments, and the individual who won the most fights in all the tournaments combined. If one person meets the requirements to fill 2 or more of these slots he or she will be given both the slots, meaning if you win the single blue and red tournaments you have 2 berths in the champions tournament. Contestants are allowed one person to act as their Herald during this tournament for the purpose of introducing them to the crowd.
