I need a bit of help from the guys who have been around the longest.

Basically, I need a summary of the history of Mittelmarch, from a non-RP aspect. Because god knows you guys have that nailed down XD.

How far back are you looking to go? I can help with the first two years ('03-'05), but you'll need Taos and Nichtmar to take it from there.

Well we started out a small group in 2005, then hit up gencons, game stores, which helped increase our numbers. We pride ourselves on going to events Bel or Dag to get better. You can't get better fighting the same group of guys. So we go learn and come back a little better. It's been a gradual snow ball effect, but when new guys come in, they have a good dynamic of fighter skill level to learn from.

I'd say we are a pretty aggressive group at the core of us.

We host a big national event Olympics and War is our next huge event push.

Basically, what Nichtmar posted there is good, if there's more to it before 05 that would be great too. A basic summary is all I really need, I can beef it up once I get that down.

And get my ass out where and fight? It's Friday, damn it! I'll be there tomorrow, XD

Once upon a time, in a basement not that far away...

Alric stumbled upon a website for a Dagorhir unit based on a book series he was reading. He followed the yellow-brick (er... blue link?) road until he came across the Dagorhir main site. Immediately deciding that beating his friends with medieval weaponry would be the best thing ever, he sounded the warhorn (and convinced two 18-year-old friends to sign the Chapter paperwork).

The very first practice was a scheduled meet-up with Andin Greystorm of Rivendell, who drove three hours from Columbus (by himself) to teach the fine arts of weapon-smithing and getting your butt kicked. Andin left, and Mittelmarch cracked its coffers (allowance money, Alric's paychecks, couch-change) and began to arm itself for the conflict to come.

Thanks in large part to advice and hands-on training from Dhugal MacArdri (who was making a 3+ hour drive once or twice a month), Mittelmarch started to suck a little less. Mittelmarch's warriors travelled to a handful of events in the first couple years, and met warriors of great renown, who offered their advice in the form of brutal beatings.

The first two Olympics events were co-hosted by Mittelmarch, The Southern Reaches, and The Northern Steppes, and held at Camp Belzer in Indianapolis.

Zaron and Taos took over when Alric moved to Muncie (and formed Stormhaven), and Nichtmar took over for Taos when the latter joined the Air Force.

The rest is Nichtmar's tale to tell. But good luck getting more out of him than he already posted.
