a buckler axe..?
If its a shield with an axe, well, if you ever reffer to it as a shield, it'll be just that--a shield.
If its an axe that straps to your arm, I heavily advise against it, but...
if it is just a weapon for show, go for it. ;D

No offense, Frosty, but I'm going to elaborate on what you said.
Because the rules surrounding a weapon/shield are terribly complex, they are not allowed. Weapons cannot block arrows, but shields can. Weapons cannot be destroyed, but sheilds can. Can a weapon/shield block arrows? Do two Red hits destroy it?
You can construct a shield with a decorative spike, and as long as it conforms to the 2 inch rule, you're fine. You can also construct an axe with a big handguard. And you can punch-block as many swings as you want. Just make sure you don't try to block an arrow with it.

There is a weapon in D&D called a buckler axe, its a dwarven weapon that is used as either an axe or a shield, but not both. what could be cool though is a double sword. picture a longsword, now make the handle about a foot longer, and put another sword on the other end, its essentially a bladed staff. whether or not it'd be legal i dunno, but i still think its cool course you could always make sword-chucks.

The only double-ended weapons that are allowed are quarterstaves. It must be cylindrically padded and have at least 18" of striking surface.
Dhugal's old axe was a monster and it was awesome.

Out of curiosity and since we're talking about axes.....has Alric gotten anywhere on that axe-in-progress I gave him a while ago?

If your intrested in creating a crazy weapon, what about a hook-tail axe, a ranseur, a Sickle, Celt, or a Surimata.
Just my ideas.

What's that weapon called where it's like a sickle attached to a chain? I know it probably wouldn't be legal without serious limitations, I'm just wondering the name of it.
--EDIT--
Never mind. Thanks to Wikipedia, I now know it is called a kusari-gama. Still, would it be illegal in Dag?

i would say yes, unless the chain was made from cloth and foam like a flail chain.

Or a Kama (Although, a majority Kama's dont have chains)
I had plans to build one just for some illegal fun, but, I decided it wouldnt be worth the waste of materials if I could never legally fight with it.
Also, it would be illegal due to the size limitations on flail chains (Max = six inches)

Although it would be rather fun and unique to build one anyway. I mean, did anyone have a kusari-gama at Rag?

No, because it would be illegal. Flail chains are limited to 6" because they could damage a weapon or even injure someone if they were longer.
You could put an oddly-shaped head on a flail if you want to be unique, but make sure you don't violate the 2.5" rule.
