For haft padding i was at first thinking the first box layer would extend to about four feet then the second to three then a two foot blade but i believe both box layers need to go to four feet right? and will two layers of camp pad be enough for haft padding?
My bandshoppe pole is six feet going to make a double edged glaive also

I would suggest going half and half on the haft...lol... the half closest to the striking edge should be two layers to ensure that it wont injure ppls and one layer is more than enough for the half furthest from the striking edge.... hope this helps!

Your initial thought was correct logic Thanatos. You'll want a heftier haft padding closer to the striking surface, and near the handle can have less padding.
