The human named Sui stood up and offered his hand to the stranger.
"I am the man you are looking for, Suihaden de Percy is my full name, though most call me Sui, and these are my friends, Lenkyron, Butler and Melcindó. Won't you join us for some dinner? Butler shot a buck early today and we have some venison stew and beans."

(OOC) We will be moving into the Ravenswood Cemetery thread sometime soon, I have permission from Giles.
(IC)
A few leagues south of the City Mittlemarch, the afternoon sun shone brightly on a small camp. With only three canvas tents and a small fire any passer by would dismiss its tenants as no danger. Four horses were tethered and grazing on the lush grass and beside them, their owners poured over a pile of maps and papers.
"I say we loop south, cross the river, then head north and cross again above the city. That course will cover the maximum amount of area for the least amount of walking."
"But Lenkyron, we have to cross the river twice to do that, and there aren't any bridges that I can see."
"Shut up Sui and let me think. I'll figure something out."
As the afternoon sun fell lower on the horizon, the four humans left off their planning and returned to the fire to cook. Sui, for Sui it was that had gathered the party, had planned well, using the limited monetary resources he had to buy weapons and supplies plundered from the Jovians. Although by no means well armed, the four seemed tough, energetic and friendly, a fighting team to be reckoned with.
One of them, a husky human named Butler, rubbed his stomach at the smell of the food.
"Mmmm hmmm, that food smells great."

Posted on the door of the Silver Moon are a number of notices, anything from "lost cat" to "assassin needed". Covering several is a notice that looks neater and fresher than most.
"Citizens of Mittlemarch,
Our land has recently suffered from several deadly attacks, chaos is the order of the day. Our villages lie open and exposed, we must protect them. I am taking this responsibility upon myself until such a time that a king can give me authority. I am looking for volunteers to patrol the outlying villages and notify the proper authorities of the depredations of bandits and warlords. If you are interested, please meet me at my camp in the woods south of Mittlemarch.
Your Servant of Mittlemarch,
Suihaden de Percy"

"Season's shine on ye Zigler."
Carrying the dishes back to the kitchen, Sui walked back into the alley and grabbed the handles of his cart.
Pushing his cart back through the city gates, Sui thought of the new weapons he was gathering. It was high time that someone brought justice back to these lands. He would begin bright and early the next morning, make a circuit of the surrounding country and compile a list of villages. Then he would petition the council to give him leave and authority to patrol the lands.

Digging deeply into the good food, Suihaden related the story of the last couple weeks of his life. His wounds had taken a while to heal, so he had passed the time in study and work, providing wood for the surrounding villages and the city itself.
"Looks like you have been doing well, I must say the establishment is packed out in the evenings. I really appreciate your making allowance for my unusual drinking habits. I apologise if I offended you, I don't condemn anyone for drinking, its just I cannot."
Pushing the empty plate of food aside, Sui leaned forward in his seat. "I also wanted to speak to you about a concern of mine. The conflicts that have ravaged our lands have shown that too many of the surrounding villages are isolated and exposed. Easy prey for the first comer with any force, villages are getting wiped out and dissapearing by the score and I don't think the Jovians are responsible for all of them. I'm thinking about taking up my sword again and patroling the surrounding area that the shogunate fails to cover, checking up on the villages and notifying the authorities. I'll need permission from the council though, and the new king when we get one. Do you think it is a good idea Zigler?"

A cheery whistle sounded up the lane as a figure clothed in black homespun pushed a cart full of wood and charcoal up to the inn. Avoiding the now happy and somewhat dangerous Oof at the doorway, Sui pushed the cart around back and began to unload his cart.
After dropping of the supply of fuel Cedric's Inn would need to stay cheery and warm, Sui looked inside and hesitated. It had been a long time since he had socialized, being busy working in the woods and studying. Shrugging his shoulders, the human pushed his way inside and up to the counter.
"Halloa there Zig! Got any dinner for a tired woodcutter?"

(OOC) Sorry it's been so long since I've been to practice, but between my Mom's cancer and my work its been hard to work things out. I hopefully will make a practice soon.
(IC)
Pushing hard at a sledge filled with stones, Sui slowly made his way to the crumbled walls. Having spent the battle caring for the wounded he was in excellent condition, unlike many of his Fellow MittelMarchers. Now the city needed his help again, and using the rough skill he had learned about fortifications during his stay at Acre, he was able to assist the masons in raising a new wall. Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he heard voices on the roof tops above.
"Very well, as long as you're goals connect with mine, I believe I can perform a task for you. I trust you are fighting against the Jovians, Hai?"
The thought of fighting Jovians stirred his blood, having missed out in the battle he was eager for action. Nimbly he climbed op the steep gables and vines to the roof, where a cloaked old man and a masked Samurai he recognized exchanged words.
"A mission in Jove? If it would please you, I am eager to join such a mission."

Sui steadied the injured scorpion.
"Sit down friend, any enemy of the jovians is a friend of mine. Those wounds look bad, let me dress them best I can."
Helping Kyosuke sit down, Sui used his skill to the best of his ability, as he tried to stabilize the flow of blood using bandages and direct pressure. These simple and time tested methods had saved many a life, and though crude compared to the magical healing skills of others, they were effective.
"My name is Suihaden de Percy, I'm a novitiate in the hospitaller order of the Knights of St. John and I have just escaped from the dungeons of the Jovians. Over there looting the dead of their drink is Berrok. He's a half orc, and a terrible drinker. Still, he's rather harmless once he is pacified. Prithee, what is your name?"

(OOC) I guess this will fill in the time it took Berok and I to get to the Kyuden; and I kinda want to RP with Kyosuke.
(IC) As the Jovian swung his sword at the prone figure; a black figure streaked from the woods shouting "Blood and Steel!" Leaping at the Jovian's knees, he sent the armored soldier crashing to the ground. The two wrestled desperately, with the Jovian's remaining comrades trying to help their struggling companion. Sui's body was pale and thin from months of confinement, but his muscles fought with a strength that showed he had not neglected exercise, he wriggled through his opponent's grasp and locked his arm around the Jovian's throat. Though out of shape from months of garrison duty, the Jovian was much stronger than his teenage opponent; flipping Sui over he began to pummel him mercilessly. Pain shot through Sui as gauntleted fists battered him but he clung to the Jovian with grim determination.
The soldiers were so intent on their battle they failed to notice the lumbering half orc approaching from the woods.
"AAAAARRRRGGGG!" bellowed Berrok as he swung his makeshift club.
"AAIIIHHHHEEEEE!" screamed a jovian as he was batted high into the air.
One soldier swung his sword to block, a futile gesture in the face of the half orc's gigantic strength. Another stroke and armor cracked under the kinetic energy of the oaken club. As Berrok demolished the fleeing jovians, Sui felt his foe, thrash and then relax under his iron grip. A few minutes of fighting and the only jovians left were dead ones.
Staggering to his feet, Suihaden looked over Kyosuke.
"Definitely eastern type, though he lacks resemblance to Tat's people. I think he is alright, just unconscious."
Tearing off a strip from his tunic, Sui wetted it in a nearby stream and bathed Kyosuke's forehead while Berrok plundered the fallen.

Arguing voices sounded up the path to the Kyuden.
"Why you no drink booze?"
"I've told you a thousand times you blockheaded dolt I've sworn not to because I'm a Hospitaller. And besides, it ruins ones constitution. Look at you, you can't stagger a mile without demanding it. Who controls you, orc, human or drink?"
Turning a bend in the path the wrangling pair came into view. A more lopsided set of traveling companions had never been seen. In front, hiked a pale, lean figure; his dark brown hair cut short on his head and though the black clothes he wore were raggedy and torn, they were clean from continual scrubbing in mountain streams. Behind him ambled a huge muscular figure, his broad shoulders rearing a head taller than his companion. The long unkempt clothes and hair, dark skin and ugly fangs proclaimed the orc in him. Armed with a large broken club, probably obtained from an unlucky oak the half breed seemed to delight in swinging it around his head, much to the annoyance of the other.
"Will we get booze when we get there?"
"Maybe." was the short reply.
"Are we there yet?"
"NO OAF! I implore you to desist!"

Sui looked distastefully at the half orc laying before him, then joined Zigler in pounding his chest to revive him.
*Cough* "Uurrgh, uh, where am I?"

Pushing up the manhole cover, Sui peered into the street. The fresh air smelled wonderful after the sewer, he could even smell the food cooking in Cedric's Inn. The rumbling in his stomach told him it had been almost a day since he had last eaten.
When it seemed that all was clear, he stepped out into the street and headed straight for the water trough. Dipping a bucket into the water, he dumped it over is sludge smeared clothing, much to the annoyance of the horse who was drinking from said water trough.
"Ahh, that's much better."

(OOC) I was thinking of writing in a serious character twist for Suihaden, but I decided against it.
(IC) Deep beneath the old MM keep are the dungeons. They are the the epitome of the the D's of a dungeon. Dark, damp and dreary. If one was to go to the second floor, first corridor, walk five cells down and turn right they would see a pale, mud spattered human emerging from a hole underneath what could be interpreted as a bed. He brushes the mud carefully back into the hole and gathers up a few belongings and packs them in a sack. Then, kneeling on the floor he pens the following message.
"My Jovian Captors,
When you read this letter I will be long gone. I will seek your destruction and and the freedom of MittleMarch. You will either kill me, or I will kill you.
Death before dishonor!
Suihaden de Percy"
Quickly, Sui dropped the note on the floor of his cell and crawled into the hole. After crawling on his face about half an hour he reached the end of his tunnel. Pushing aside the dirt and stones with his primitive tool made from an old iron saucepan handle, he emerged into the sewers of MittleMarch. Sui stood up, stretched and wrinkled his nose at the horrid smell.
"I wonder how to get out of the this sewer and the city walls without being seen, I guess I'll just have to find out."
Sui set off into the dark sewer.
