Elestirne also smiled at Strayys. "And he is my good friend. It heartens me to learn he is known in this land." She turned to Zaron again. "If thou counts Oron thine friend good Zaron, then I hope that means I can count thee mine?" As a afterthought, she added to Strays. "And ne'er be ashamed for asking questions young one. Through questions, one gains answers and through answers knowledge-which is a great thing to have,as it helps one to better survive in and understand the world we live in. Also,to ask questions shows you are curious and eager to learn and those also are good traits to have. And Storm,in regards to thine earlier question,I too, would like to be off and take up Zaron's offer of hospitality within his city. Another night in this misty forest that seemeth to be infested with orcs does not strike me as a pleasing thought. Olore beside her snorted;pawing the ground. I do not wish to linger here any longer than we absolutly need. Elestirne aknowledged his words with a slight nod, then the elven-queen fixed Zaron with her clear, grey eyes. "What sayest thou good steward Zaron? Shall we quit this place and proceed to thine city and the hospitality thou offered us?" Calmly she watched him,her bright gaze unwavering.

Elestirne was slightly surprised by the man's-Zaron he had named himself-vague reconigtion of the name Taraer. The last thing she had expected was for any to have heard of her realm in this strange land that was-by her guess-so far from any lands she knew or was known in. Although,it was possible she supposed, that since the mist had found her en route to Oron's land, this land was not far removed from her friend's. In such case, might they know Oron? She personally was unfamiliar with the land but she thought she remembered Oron speaking of it,of visiting it when he had first met her,two or three years ago. Yes,he had. Thus,it was very possible that this Zaron,as steward of this land, knew of Oron. Three years was not so long a time for mortals and barely any at all for those of her race. Rousing herself from her thoughts she waited until Zaron had finished, then spoke.
"All things have thier own beauty according to the nature of thier being good steward, and it is considered courtesy and good manners to call one by the title one posesses or gave themself." She paused a moment, then continued;her melodic voice thoughtful. "I personally am unfamiliar with your land but the name rings familiar to me. It was mentioned to me a few years ago by a friend,Lord Oron of Pentwyvern. Might you be familiar with the name? As for your proffered hospiltality I shall be glad to accept it for a time, until I can find my way back to my own lands."
Her gaze slid to Storm;grey eyes softening slightly as she saw his concern, and she moved her hand slightly away from her wound. "Nay Storm. I am well enough. It will heal in its own time." She nodded politly to the ogre after learning his name. "And it is good to meet you Nichtmar."

Elestirne looked at the man warily;still cautious. She was not quite sure what to make of his greeting. He seemed friendly and non-threatening and the fact that he had greeted them and not moved to attack heartened her,as did the fact that he had seemed to reconize the ogre-whose name she still had not learned. What do you think friend?,she asked of Olore.
The elegant silver stallion shifted restlessly;pawing the ground with one slender foreleg. His nostrils flared, taking in the man's scent. He snorted softly. I sense no evil taint about him milady-I believe he can be trusted and his greeting taken to be sincere. Morever he seems to have a Elven look to him-not wholly Elven as thou, but perhaps half-elven. You best speak lady. Did you mark the title he gave himself?
Aye. If he is,as he says, the steward of whatever land or realm we have come tothen it would do us well to accept his greeting-and his hospitality should he offer it. That said,Elestirne now focused on the man and nodded her head regally in aknowledgement of his greeting. "Mae govannen then, Zaron steward of Mittlemarch. I am the Lady Elestirne, called Starbrow by my people;queen of the Elven-realm Taraer. I do not know how I came to be here, nor where here is. This is Olore,my loyal companion." Briefly, the silver stallion ducked his fine head in a polite nod;intelligent eyes alert and bright as he surveyed the man. After a pause Elestirne again spoke;the slender elven-queen gesturing with one hand to indicate Storm and Strays.
"These twain are but recently met. The knight I helped in fighting some orcs-which I earlier had been attacked by,"one slender hand strayed unconsiously to the partly healed wound that burned her side still,"and the young one I found alone in the forest not far from here. I'll let them introduce themselves. Yonder ogre's name I know not but he came upon the knight and I after the orc attack. As you seemed to reconize him good sir perhaps you can say who he is." Having spoken,Elestirne now fell silent and waited patiently for either Storm or Strays to speak,or the stranger.

Without looking behind her,Elestirne sensed that Strays cautiously approached and subtly, with one slender hand, motioned that it was allright to come and join them. At the same time she glanced briefly at Storm in what would almost be called a stern look. No word she spoke to the young knight but the slender elven-queen's look clearly communicated that he should put his sword back. Only then did she focus her gaze to the strange man;matching his gaze levelly, calmly. Her clear grey eyes were bright and piercing as she looked at him;still waiting to see what he would do.

Slightly puzzled by his actions Elestirne watched Strays run off into the woods with a bow. A part of her wondered if she should follow the young one,but decided that he could take care of himself and that he needed time alone and would return soon enough. She stood a moment ,looking in the direction the boy had gone, then tensed and turned slightly;grey eyes flashing from side to side, piercing through the mist in search of what had alarmed her. Olore too was fully alert. His head was up and pointed in the direction Elestirne had turned towards, his nostrils flared and ears pricked;every muscle in his body tense. Briefly one silver ear flicked back before returning to it's previous position and Elestirne, also hearing Storm stir and approach behind her, moved not at all as he came up to her and spoke softly.
"I feel it quite acutely good knight,"she answered quietly without looking at him, listening carefully and watching Olore for clues to whatever approached the camp. "Something comes. Be silent and speak quietly. I think not that it is a orc,for they make considerably more noise in thier movements." She put out one slender arm to prevent Storm, who had drawn his sword, from movingpast. "Hold,"she instructed, not unkindly "I sense no malice yet from whatever approaches."
Olore snorted softly to get her attention;ears flicking backwards again for the briefest of seconds. The young man-child comes back. It seems he brought back a deer as well. Elestirne heard the stallion's thoughts and gave the slightest of nods, but turned not to glance behind her;her attention focused on what approached. She hoped young Strays would know to be quiet.
Soon she heard footsteps approaching and watched cautiously-Olore moving instantly to stand by her protectivly-as a man entered the clearing. He seemed as surprised by thier presence-excepting the ogre's-as they by his. Elestirne watched him warily but made no move to any of her weapons, reasoning that if the stranger had wantd to attack them,he would already have attempted to do so. And there had been no hostility inhis voice when he had spoken. She noted also that he had evidently just been in a battle for his armour was stained with dirt and dark blood she reconized to be that orcs. No word she spoke yet, only watched the stranger calmly;waiting to see what would happen.

Elestirne turned slightly at the sound of slight stirring on the other side of the clearing. Storm had gone to sleep shortly after laying the young Strays down and slept still,as did the still silent ogre. Olore stood scant feet from her, appearing to doze slightly, though she knew him better than that. She had woken early, before all the others. The first hints of dawn were only now beginning to lighten the night sky;giving it a grey tint. A few stars however, still shone faintly in the lightening sky. Together with the light mist drifting around, everything had a soft grey cast and Olore seemed a silver shadow or ghost.
Across from her,her keen eyes picked out the young mortal boy-Strays he had called himself she remembered-stirring. Not far from her Olore snorted softly and Elestirne realized quickly that her stallion was not asleep in the least. It is early for the young one to be waking,he thought to her;touching his velvet muzzle to her cheek lightly. The slender elven-lady nodded slightly in response to this;agreeing with the silver stallion.
Slowly, she approached Strays;moving easily and answering him quietly as she approached through the light mist. "I and my kind do not have the same need for sleep as those of your kind little one.'Tis early for you to be up. Dawn has not yet crested the horizons of the world."

She stepped back to allow Strays to approach Olore. The magnificent stallion snorted and sidled-watching Stays warily-but allowed the boy to approach and come near;shaking his mane out and stamping a forefoot. The regal elven-horse waited until Elestirne came forward. Then he slowly and gracefully knelt;knuckling his forelegs underneath him so that Strays could mount more easily. Elestirne slipped on gracefully after the boy and Olore rose;wheeling around and breaking into a smooth canter with the lightest touch of the reins.
During the ride back to the camp the young boy fell asleep. As she and Olore matierialized out of the shadows back into the light of the fire her keen eyes spotted Storm. She leapt gracefully off Olore as the regal silver stallion came to a halt, snorting softly and shaking out his mane. She watched as Storm eased Strays off the elf-horse and laid the sleeping boy by a tree;covering him with a cloak. Then she answered his questions. "I heard crying and followed it. Not far into the woods I found this little one.I believe he has been through a lot. Sleep is the best thing for him now." She glanced to Strays, then to Storm again. "He said he is called 'Strays'."

"I know not this forest either, being new to this land, but the way I came to this place I know and that knowledge suffices for the present." She turned and walked gracefully towards Olore;pausing after a moment to look back to the young one. "My kind youngling? I am a elf,one of the Elder Kindred. Or,as I suppose many men know us by, one of the 'Fair Folk'." At his second question she glanced quickly back to the silver stallion. "Olore is no normal horse. He is my companion and very intellingent." She raised one slender eyebrow slightly at his third question;seeming slightly amused. "That is how we are. We elves possess grace beyond that of men for we are no mortal beings."
A faint smile touched her lips at his fourth question. "My name young Strays,is the Lady Elestirne Starbrow. More you shall learn of me in time. Suffice to say that I am a queen of my people, who somehow found myself in this land." Noticing the child Strays weariness she added. "That however, can be spoken of later. We should leave this place. Can you ride youngling?''
Olore stamped a hoof and snorted. Must I bear the young man-foal? I am bonded to you. You are the only rider I permit upon my back lady.
He is in need my friend and is too weary to walk the distance back. Morever is young and will not be much of a burded, thought Elestirne in turn. For me?
The proud silver stallion tossed his fine head, mane streaming, then dropped it with a grudging snort. As you wish my lady. If it is not for long,I will endure the man-child. But only for you. Elestirne smiled slightly, then turned to Strays. "Well youngling, can you ride? We shall get there sooner if so and you shall have a hot meal and a good sleep-both of which you look to need."

Elestirne looked at the young child;understanding and sympathy in the elven-queen's clear grey eyes."Many things there are in this world that one cannot change, some which affect us personally and so,there are many who cry in this world for what they have lost or what they cannot change."Her earlier hesitation at talking to such a young mortal faded now,for she saw that the little one was plainly lost and likely afraid. "As for the pain in your heart, all things have thier own time for healing. The wounds of the heart and spirit are much deeper than those of the flesh and so,take longer tomend. What pain you carry I know not but it will heal in it's own time, when it is ready to." She was a little surprised by the sophistication of his speech. He is young, but something must have happened for him to grow up.
She got her answer with his reply to her last question. The poor thing,to lose his parents so young, she thought to herself. Aloud she said. "The loss of one's parents,or those one holds dear is always a grievious thing and one hard to bear, but especially hard when at such a young age. As to your questions,it is indeed only fair that I answer them,so I shall. For your first,I did not sneak uponyou, for those of my kind are naturally silent in our movements and are only heard if we wish to be. In answer to your second,I simply heard crying and followed the sound to you."
It is young lady. Little more than a foal my kind would account it,came Olore's thoughts behind her. Look at his surprise and the way he looks at your ears-I do not think he has seen a elf before, thus likely does not know what you are.
Elestirne nodded slightly. The slender elven-queen had noted the child's reaction to her,and to her ears. Given that, his third question was almost to be expected. Gracefully, she moved forward;knowing that she seemed to glide over the grass rather than walk as she approached. "As for thine third question young one,my ears are pointed because that is the way I and all my kind are, just as you and all your kind have round ears."After a moment, she extended one slender hand to the little one. "You look weary youngling, and hungry. I know where you can rest without fear." Her bright grey eyes flashed from side to side. "It would not be wise to linger in a dark forest at this time of night. But first, what are you called little one?" Elestirne's grey eyes were kind, and sympathetic.

Elestirne had been surprised by Storm's sudden tears. She had mortal friends, and had observed mortals and it had been her observation that mortal men thought it a weakness to cry in public.
And you wondered at his lack of emotion, commented Olore dryly a few feet off. The silver stallion,half-hidden in the shadows, pawed at the ground when she glanced at him, then arubtly lifted his head;nostrils flaring. His ears pricked, swiveled. Do you hear that lady?
She listened, and, after a moment did. It was the sound of crying, and was certainly not Storm. This crying was faint, sounded farther off, and, morever, sounded like someone young. Let us see what it is mellon nin,she said to Olore. It sounds young and may be in trouble-I would help it if I could.
That is like you. The stallion snorted softly, cast a glance to Storm and the ogre. What of these lady? Shall we tell them?
'' No need my friend. They will be fine." Elestirne rose gracefully and vaulted easily onto Olore. In a moment the two were gone;cantering quietly towards the crying through the forest. In a few minutes, they were drawing near the spot. When they were only a few feet away,Elestirne dismounted and approached slowly, soundlessly, not wishing to startle whoever it was.
She only had to walk a few paces ere she saw the source of the crying. What she saw filled her with curiosity and sympathy. A young human child lay curled by a large tree, crying. She had seen mortal children before of course,in Oron's keep and in Loderia,,but had never really interacted or spoken with one. This one looked to be about 11 in thier reckoning of years, quite young, and seemed to be bending over/observing a long sword. He gave no indication of her presence, but she was not surprised. Elves were not heard or seen unless they wished to be and she had moved with deliberate silence. She glanced back to Olore briefly. The silver stallion was hanging back;not wishing to startle the young one.
After a moment,Elestirne decided to speak to the little one, though she was not sure what to say. Quietly, she approached, then stopped when she was about five or six feet away. "Why do you cry little one? Are you hurt? Where is your family?" Her clear, melodic voice was gentle and quiet, but easily heard.

"I would be much interested in hearing the story,"answered Elestirne. "And in hearing of the land and world from whence thy came. Such tales are always interesting to me." She wondered at the lack of emotion in the young knight's voice, but commented not;deciding it could either be weariness or wariness of irritating the ogre. "Good ogre,"she called;her musical voice carrying clearly. "Will you kindly tell thine name? I would learn the name of the one who helped us from the orcs and who travels with us. And I like not calling thee 'ogre' all the time."

"Trust is given-and earned-o'er time,"said Elestirne,"but you should not be so hasty to mistrust or to pass judgement. Ogres naturally distrust all but thier own race and most ha'e no love for men and elves, and the majority like us not at all and look on and treat us with loathing and disdain. This ogre-whatever his name be-seems unlike his race in that aspect. While I know he pinned thee against the tree, ogres by nature are oft chaotic and short-tempered. Thus,it is wise to do nothing to irritate or anger them,as you seem to have done. It might indeed be best for you to stay silent for now."

Elestirne started to flinch away from Storm, wary of accepting the healing as she knew the man not well and his gods not at all. She realized however, that it might be the best course,in case the ogre decided to attack, and so,she reluctantly allowed the knight to tend to her. When the healing was finished the slender elf-queen stood;putting her hand where the wound was. It seemed largly healed but the area was still very tender. She looked at Storm and was surprised by what she saw in his eyes as she tentativly took the amulet. The mortal cares for me....this could be arkward later.
Olore snorted;still watching the ogre warily and hovered protectivly o'er her. Whatever the stallion thought of this discovery did not reach her. He was focused wholly on the ogre. Elestirne focused her attention on him as well and listened as he spoke. When he finished she responded. "I speak for myself ogre and need none to talk for me. Whatever this Mittlemarch be i' you can lead me to a safer place than the one where we are at currently, that shall be welcome." She cleaned her swords and sheathed them;taking Olore's reins and warily followed a pace behind the ogre.

Elestirne started to reply to Storm but stiffened suddenly;her already tense frame becoming as taut as a drawn bow. Up flashed her swords, glowing with pale light and her silver-grey eyes flashed from side to side. At the same time Olore threw his head up with a wild snort;rearing with a whinney as the wind shifted and brought the scent to him. Orcs!
The elf-queen readied for the attack-assuming a guard stance-but it never came. Before the orcs could attack a ogre looked up from out of nowhere behind them and efficiently slew them all. Tensly, the elf watched as the ogre wiped his sword clean and approached;warily eying him as he did so. Olore's warning snort, the pale glow returning to her swords and the crack of a twig behind her alerted the elf to more enemies. She spun gracefully;one gleaming mithril sword tearing through the orc who had attempted to sneak up on her,the other sword beheading him in the next stroke. His clumsy strike clipped her though and she winced as it bit. A crunch of bone signalled the end of the second orc, dealt by Olore's sharp hooves. Warily she turned back to the ogre;surprised he had not attacked whilst she was occupied by the orcs, and more suprised that he had spoken to her. Olore supported her as she swayed a little and she lowered her blades slightly. "Nay,he does not bother me and I am surprised that you do not attack me as,to my knowledge, you race despises and hates mine. Much like the orcs." A shudder ran through her slender frame. "But you call me Lady and do not attack me so am I to consider you unlike your kind and a friend of elves? And I would have preferred good Storm, that my name was not disclosed until we learned the ogre's identity and whether he is good,or a ally of the orcs." Her melodic voice was slightly suspiciouis and her clear grey eyes wary. Wincing, and trying to conceal the pain that showed on her face, she put one slender hand to her side, the wound throbbing. Again she swayed and again Olore steadied her;snorting in concern but keeping wary eyes on the ogre.

Olore snorted;amusement tinging the stallion's thoughts. Elestirne was not nearly so amused. The knight continues to surprise me,but now it is his turn. Queen I may be,but I do not run when danger threatens.
Her grey eyes sparked with a hint of silver fire as she met the knight's and there was resolve and determination in the fair face. When she spoke her voice, though gentle, was firm and brooked no disagreement. "I appreciate your concern young sir knight and realize 'tis likely part of thine creed to protect women and royalty but I am like no royal nor woman thou has met before. Lady I may be, and Queen, but I am not helpless. I am a elf and, among my people both women and men are trained to arms if they desire it. Long years I ha'e been at the sword, since a child, and have fought and faced many things in that time. I do not run when danger threatens and will not do so now. I will fight for I am as much a warrior as thou Storm,Knight of Solamnia." In one smooth, swift motion, her twin swords were out of thier sheathes and in her hands. The long, slightly curved mithril bladesshone as they leapt to her hands and runes shimmered with silver light along thier gleaming lengths. "I am not unused to battle and nor are these swords. Whatever comes I will face it if it intends to do me harm." Olore came up to stand with her;pawing the ground slightly.

Again the elf raised a eyebrow;her surpriseat the deference showing clearly in her eyes and face. A courteous one, this knight, thought Elestirne to herself. It suprises me he is so deferent
You are a queen,Olore answered. Knights think much of such things. And you helped him. It is not surprising-and deserved-that he shows you such respect. You should be usedto such treatment by now when you reveal your station and title lady.
It ne'er ceases to surprise me,returned Elestirne, then spoke againto Storm. "Such deference is needed not-you are neither of my people, nor my realm and so,owe me no fealty or service. It is allright that you knew not-you are not of this world and this land, whatever it may be,I believe is far from lands where I am known. Morever," a hint of wry amusement entered the melodic voice now,"it is to my knowledge that most rulers customarily never travel except when with a escort and a gaurd and fabulously attired also. I however,am not like them-I will upon occasion travel with a escort but more oft than not Olore is my only companion and acts as my guard." Lightly, she touched the circlet on her forehead and it glimmered with white light. "And my crown is generally the only finery I wear when away from home
"'Tis unfortunate that you know naught of this land though,as it would be helpful to finding a place to camp, and welcome and wise as the night is now very late and I do not wish to linger in this place lest there are more orcs about." Her grey eyes briefly flashed from side to side ere resting with interest upon the necklace Storm presented to her. "The jewel tell its own story. It is old and of fine make. Not so ancient though,as my crown. But whatever stories you have can wait for now. Your wounds must be seen toand then we might set about finding a campsite away from this place. You must stay very still."
Concentrating,Elestirne closed her eyes and raised her hands. The air shimmered and silvery-blue light glimmered into being;glowing softly on the elf's slender hands as she guided them gently and lightly over the knight. His wounds were not fatal, but nor were they minor. Within a few minutes, his wounds were healed,at least mostly so. Elestirne swayed as the light faded but not as much as she had expected. Healing with magic always took it's toll on her,as it drew from her own strength to mend the injuries.
You should have used herbs.
Magic was quicker, and easier this time, Elestirne said in answer to Olore's comment. All the same, there was a weariness easily seen in her face as the elven-queen spoke to Storm. "I have done what I can. Healing with magic draws from my own strength and I was already weary. Now we must be gone from this place...." The elven-lady stiffened slightly, her slender frame tensing and her clear grey eyes flashing from side to side warily. Olore too, snorted softly;lifting his head to stare at the surrounding shadows, nostrils flaring as he scented the air.

One slender eyebrow rose upward and a look of surprise, then amusement, passed o'er the elf's fair face. The surprise was from discovering that the warrior had spoken in the common tongue, instead of in a strange language,as she had half-expected. The amusement was from the warrior's reaction to her-she certainly had not expected such courtesy from a stranger,e'en if she had helped him.
Now the elf-lady did speak;her clear, musical voice soft and melodic. "I know naught of thine Paladine young knight, but something certainly has brought me hither, though I know not whither here is,nor by what name this land may go by. Mist enveloped me and I found myself here. Nor have I heard of these Knights of Solamnia that you say you be of.
"The creatures are called orcs-yrch in my tounge, and I believe they were chasing me and thus,am grateful you distracted them. Not that they could ha'e caught me,as there is few things that can outrun a elf-horse,but they are foul creatures, and viscious." A barely seen shudder ran through the elf-lady's slender frame. She hesitated a moment, then gracefully slipped off the silver stallion, who nickered and bent his fine head to nuzzle her. "As you told me thine name,I believe only fair to give you mine." The intricatly woven silver circlet on her brow glimmered in the dim forest and silver sparkles ran through the long night-dark hair. In contrast, her clear grey eyes seemed as bright as stars. "I am the Lady Elestirne,Queen of the Elven-realm Taraer. My people name me 'Starbrow'. My stallion is named Olore and is very intellingent Can you perhaps, young Storm, tell me what place I ha'e come to?"
The elf-lady surveyed the knight's bloody and injured figure;wary concern flickering in the clear grey eyes. "You are injured young knight. I have healing magic. If you wish,I could mend thine wounds."
If he would trust a stranger,e'en though you helped him. If she heard the stallion's comment, the elf gave no sign. Her bright grey eyes were focused steadily on the knight;awaiting his answer.

OOC:Aye, he does. Welcome to the story Storm The stallion's run did not last long. The elven-lady-though greatly surprised by the sudden bolt-soon got the stallion under control and calmed. The regal horse pulled up after a few minutes;snorting and shaking his fine head, blowing out his breath. Leaning forward, the elf stroked the silver stallion's neck;murmuring reassuringly in Elven. "Fastre mellon nin, faestre." Looking back, the elf saw that the orcs had ceased thier pursuit of her. Now they were focused on attacking another. Through the dim light that filtered through the forest's thick trees, the elf's keen eyes saw a glint of plate mail and a shield, and her ears caught the strange battle cry. A knight perhaps,or a warrior at least. Whoever 'twas was evidentally a skilled fighter, for he appeared to have caught the orcs by surprise and slain all but two. The elf-lady hesitated but a moment, then decided to ride back and aid to stranger. He might be someone who could tell her what this land was and how she had come here. If they could communicate.
She reined the silver stallion around. His ears flicked as she did this and his thoughts echoed in her mind. This is risky lady. "All things and actions are risky in a strange land one knows not,"was the elf's repy. "He may be one who can help us,at the least we can see if he is friend or foe Olore."
The stallion snorted and shook out his mane, but said naught else;obligingly moving into a slow, canter at her urging, the bells on his harness and bridle jingling softly. Occupied by the strange warrior in plate, the two remaining orcs did not see the elf's approach.
Like a silver ghost, the regal elf-horse materialized out of nowhere behind the orcs;moving at a full gallop, the raven hair of the elf-lady streaming behind her. The silver stallion reared with a trumpeting, ringing neigh and lashed out with sharp, deadly forehooves. One of the two remaining orcs fell wordlessly;it's skull crushed by the stallion's powerful strike. Caught by surprise, trapped between two opponents and bewildered by the battle's turn, the last orc made a run for it. There was a flash of silver and the orc fell ere it had gone four paces;efficiently dispatched by one of the lady's gleaming swords. Calmly, the elf sheathed the shining mithril blade and turned bright grey eyes to the warrior she had helped. No word she spoke, only sat the stalliion quietly, serenly;calmly watching the strange warrior, her clear grey eyes reflecting curiosity. The stallion snorted and pawed at the ground lightly;dark intellingent eyes watching the knight cautiously.

It had been some hours since she had arrived in this strange land but naught had changed. It was now late evening and she was-so far as she could discern-deep in misty forest and no closer to any sign of a civilization or settlement. Not once in the hours she had been here had she seen any sign of a track or path, nor road. Wherever she was,she appeared to be in relative-and thus far-complete wilderness. If there was any town or settlement nigh, she had not come across it yet.
And she was reluctant to stop and make camp, though she knew it to be the logical thing to do. Something about tthe land uneased her. The mist, the silent forest and landscape, all of it disquieted her. She sensed danger;lurking on the edges of consious thought. There was danger here. To the elf, born and raised in forests,a being deeply attuned to nature,it was a warning from this strange land she had fallen into to be wary and she would heed the warning. So she continued to ride through the night,as cautsious and wary as the stallion she rode;eyes and ears alert for danger,a slender handon the hilt of one of the two slender swords girt around her slim waist.
After about a hour the elf saw a speck of orange light flickering ahead through the thick trees. A fire. Where there was a fire, there would be people. At least, she hoped. She did not know what inhabited this strange land. Still,it was a good sign. Heartened, the elven-lady sent a prayer to Varda,Lady of Stars, and urged the stallion into a steady trot. The regal creature snorted softly and tossed his head;ears flickering nervously and every muscle in his body tense as he obeyed. Warned by her horse's behaviour, the elf tensed also;hand instantly moving to grip one of her swords. She was thrown off balance however,as some shapes she reconized instantly as orcs crashed out of the underbrush directly ahead and her stallion reared with a wild, trumpeting neigh, lashed out momentarily with teeth and silver forehooves, landed, then bolted deeper into the forest;thankfully still in the rough direction they had been heading, towards the fire.

The horse and rider cantered through a empty landscape. On thier left,a grey sea stretched;matching the skies above. On thier right were empty, bleak plains. Both sea and plains continued for as far as could be seen.
The pair moved with a purpose, but seemed in no hurry;cantering steadily. The horse-a tall, elegant silver stallion whose coat shone against the dreary landscape-moved smoothly, confidentally;cantering rthymnitcally and gracefully. His high-carried tail was flagged;flowing out behind him like a silver banner as his luxurious silver mane streamed in the wind of his going. His neck was arched, ears pricked and fine head poised;eyes bright and intelligent as he cantered on. He snorted once;ducking his proud head a little, and his rider leaned forward to pat his shining neck.
At first glance, his rider appeared to be nothing more than a young woman but, upon a second glance it was easily and quickly seen that she was not so. Her fair,high-cheekboned face was young,or seemed to be,being smooth and clear. But if her face was young, then her eyes were immeasurably old,or gave such a impression. Grey, and as clear and bright as stars, they were full of wisdom and knowledge and had the look of one who has known many things the years bring, both joyful and sorrowful. The long,night-dark hair that streamed behind her-bound by a intricatly woven silver circlet that crowned her brow-was touched by no frost, but it glimmered faintly with silver sparkles;a effect not seen in any normal maiden's hair. The last thing that denounced the rider as a normal maiden were the pointed tips of her ears just barely seen through her hair.
The elf-lady sat the stallion easily;effortlessly directing, but not controlling, the regal elven-horse. At one point he tossed his fine head and struck out playfully with a foreleg in midstride with a snort;the bells on his harness and bridle jingling. The elf's seat ne'er wavered, nor did she move to adjust her grip on the reins.
Why are we takingthe long route to Oron's? For that matter, why are we riding thither Lady? The silver stallion's thoughts, heard only by the elf, carried a questioning tone.
"Because mellon nin,you-and I for that matter-did not o'ermuch like the journey by ship, nor would I be inclined to attempt it without Oron with, and a longer journey meaneth a longer time away and more time alone to ourselves. As to your second question friend, mortals change so much in e'en a short time that it is amusing to see how much and what has happened. Be grateful Grease does not accompany,or the trip would seem twice as long." The elf's soft voice was clear and musical;lilting and flowing like a waterfall. "That is why."
The stallion snorted again, but answered naught in return. After a few minutes however,he threw up his head;nostrils flaring and snorting uneasily. "What is it my friend?,"asked the elf;concern now tinging her melodic voice.
I do not know lady, came the stallion's troubled answer. It is like a mist, but not so-for there is no scent to it. Whatever it is,it appears to be coming our way. We shall be in it soon. Without any urging from his rider, the elf-horse slowed his pace from a canter to a trot, then a walk, then halting altogether. Clearly made uneasy by the 'mist'-which the elf could now see clearly as well-he pulled at the reins and tossed his head; cavaling and dancing uneasily beneath his rider, then half-rearing as the mist reached and enveloped them.
The elf felt as uneasy about the mist as her stallion and tensed;bracing herself as it surrounded them-for what, she did not know. Strangly, she felt none of the dampness ussually felt with mists-just a vague, uneasy sense that something was not right or that something supernatural was happening.
After a few minutes, the mist cleared and she found that her instincts had been right-for they were now in a very different place than the one they had been in. Where there had been sea, there was now misty forest. Where it had been late afternoon,'twas now early evening. Where they were now the elf did not know-nor how they had gotten here-but it was certainly no place she knew. Uneasy and more than a little bewildered, she looked around;trying to get her bearings in the strange new landscape she now found herself in as her stallion continued to caval and dance beneath her. First thing was to find out where she was, then learn how she had come here. Alert, and very wary, she urged the stallion into a walk and began to look for a track or something that would lead to a settlement,or,people at least. Hopefully, whatever this strange place was,she would be able to communicate with any she happened to meet...

1) What makes you happy? seeing and enjoying the beauty of nature, being alone for a time with Olore and when with good friends and free for a time from the burdens of realm and queenship
2) What makes you angry? I am slow to anger but someone threatening/hurting my friends,unjust/cruel treatment of people or animals, being thought of/taken for a fool,or being wrongfully accused/called something untrue will do it
3) What equipment do you have ready when on a long voyage? I ha'e only been on a 'voyage'(trip by ship o'er sea)once, but on a long journey,or any journey,I will have my twin longswords, sometimes my bow, food for both myself and my horse, things such as are needed to see to him and his needs,my pouch of herbs, perhaps armor and miruvir and lembas And of course myself and Olore-and a escort if I could be pursuaded to allow such to accompany me
4) What gear do you bring to a large battle? My twin swords, oftentimes my bow,my armour, mayhaps armour for Olore, herbs for healing and of course, myself and Olore. Fortunatly my realm is peaceful and no evil thing can enter it there is little need for battle and it almost ne'er comes to my lands
5) Do you wear any jewelry? My circlet/crown always, sometimes a necklace given to me by my mother, and mayhaps a ring of silver and sapphire upon occasion
6) Are you afraid of anything? Fear is the worst enemy one faces but I fear at times not being strong enough to lead and protect my people and realm. But my biggest fear-if it could be called such-is losing all I hath gained and also, having my people forgotten in the ages of the world to come
7) Have you ever killed a Man? Yea-but only because I had to and they threatened/sought to harm me and my friends. That is the only reason I would kill a Man
8) Have you ever killed a beast? I have been taught the ways of the forest and hunt by my mother's people and killed a few in that training-but would not do so again except for the above reason
9) Have you killed any from the other races? Yea,unfortunatly;some dwarves,a few dark elves,a fair share of goblins, aided in vanquishing a demon and once had to kill one of my own race and realm-all for the same reason as listed in #7
10) Who was your closest friend? I ha'e none I could count such, save perhaps Olore
11) Do you have any enemies? It might be reasoned that,as a queen,I have those that would wish me harm, but I am at peace with those lands bordering mine and the one counted my greatest enemy and threat is dead and his spirit cannot harm me
12) Are you close with your family? My family has passed from this world and await me beyondit, but it is not yet time for me to join them. I have niether siblings nor close relatives. There are perhaps, distant kin,but I am sure there are none beyond those I know of already
13) How do you act in a tavern? I am not to be seen in one unless, perhaps, convinced by my mortal friends or aquaitences-but you can reason I act nothing less than properly and respectfully
14) How do you act around a campfire? As I do in all other things;respectfully, but enjoying the company around me if good company
15) Do you play an instrument? I harp, and can dance and sing(OOC:All things I wish I could do-for I have a small lap harp and like to sing along with my favorite songs and CD's)
16) Do you worship anyone/anything? I 'worship' naught, but I respect, revere and believe in the Valar and Illuvatar,Father of All
17) Do you have a job? I am a queen. My 'job' is protecting and leading my people
18) Did you have a happy childhood? Some of it could be called happy
19) What will you be like in 5 years? I shall be the same-time passes not for me as it does for you of mortal blood/descent(OOC:Hopefully a better warrior)
20) What will you be like in 50 years? I will be little changed,if at all-for the same reason-but may perhaps/likely have a family by/in that time
21) What is your favorite food and drink? If such a question must be answered,Elven wine/mead or herbal teas, and honey cakes
22) What food and drink do you consume most often? Again,if such a question must be answered, generally herbal tea and either the aforementioned light honey cakes or fruits and herbs

1) What inspired you to create your character? She has been on the edge of my consiousness for some years;waiting for her chance to come out and be brought to life
2) What inspired the name? Her name came from Tolkien's Elven-languages,through a word I coined myself: elentire. 'elen'~star, 'tire'~brow, thus,'Starbrow',or,'Starbrowed'. Over time(a very, very long time)the word became Elestirne and the meaning and original word was forgotten by all save the oldest elven-seers and sages. 'Tis a prophetic name
3) Is your character particularly good or evil and why? She is wholly and utterly good, for being a creature of light and a high elf-though she has met somewho could be called chaotic,or ability to be evil
4) If you could give your character a special ability of some sort what would it be? She needs none:she is already a gifted and natural healer,a exceptionally talented seeress and learned in some magic. That and she is very perceptive and wise
5) If your character had a theme song, what song would that be? I do not know, but shall put it here when I find/learn it
6) If price didn't matter, what would your dream armor (or garb) be? hmm..well she technically already has it,but probally Elven mithril plate
7) In a short summary, can you describe your character? She is noble, loyal, compassionate, fierce when need to be,gentle elsewise, kind and wise and sorrowful. She has a good heart-and much prefers peace to war-but she will fight if the situation arises and she deems it a good cause
8) What is your charcters goal in life (this could also be subtext for a quest he or she is on)? To be a good queen and leader for her people and realm,to understand better the world and people around her,and use that knowledge for good, for here and her realm to exist peacefully with those who border her lands, and, above all, staying true to herself and being who she is while being at the same time what Fate has chosen and made her
9) Would your character ever consider not fighting? She is peaceful by nature and as a rule seeks to avoid conflict. She fights only if she must,to defend herself, her friends,or her realm, and only if it is a good and worthy cause. She would not fight for a bad cause or reason,or for something stupid-such as to prove who is better or to solve a arguement
10) If you could, what position would you be in your army (archer, beserker, horserider, whatever)? She,as queen, leads her army, but if that were not so and she were any other ordinary elf,she would ride as one of the calvary and likely arch from horseback as well

All things will come to you in time. How soon or long depends on the individual's patience and determination,in most cases
