I awoke with little memory of what or where I was. What I did know what very basic and the things that anyone around me might know just by looking at me. I was in a small wooden room in a lavishly decorated bed. Maybe I had been sick and people were caring for me. Or was I a prisoner. Little of that mattered. I stood and walked across the room to the armoir that was there and drew out some traveling clothes. Upon exiting this room I found that I was in a tree-house complex of sorts. Taking the only bridge that was there I eventually found an armory and removed a spear, a sword, a dagger, and a shield. Continuing along the walkway I made my way down to the ground. I found nothing that could show me what I was or where I had come from, or perhaps where I should go. There was a large stone building nearby so that was the first place I looked.
Upon entering the building I found that it was obviously a place of worship. There were statues all around of six distinctly different dragons. At this moment I had a sudden surge of information. I knew something of who I was, I had once worshipped these dragons. I once led a group of people in the worship of these dragons. More importantly I knew that to the south there was a tribe of elves that might take me in as one of their own. Hopefully for at least long enough for me to get back the rest of my memory.
I set out at once to find these elves that might have some information for me. Along the way I met many people of all different races and discovered little of my past but I did discover the name of the place that I was, Mittelmarch. It was said that no one was ever born here, that everyone came from some other plane of existence and that there was a mist that would take people to and from this land.
Entering the forest that I believed housed a tribe of elves I felt a sudden rush of calm soothing feelings. I felt like I was home. I wandered around for a few days eating what I could find in the plantlife until one day I decided that it was time to eat some meat. As I pulled my spear back I was assaulted by ten spear points and I promptly lowered my weapon. "We've been watching you for many days now," their leader said. "Come with us." Without another word I was taken to the tribal home of these elves.
I spent many weeks there learning what I could through books, people, and personnal reflection. I could only learn so much there though. I set out after a few weeks. As I left I was summoned to the elder's tent. "You have been here many moons, and now as you leave we shall give you one final gift. A name. You shall be called from here until the day you die Isen Ehtar." I was then given my leave. I left a new person than when I entered. I had a name and I had some sense of who I was.
After a couple of days of wandering without destination to the east I met a dwarf named Theodoric. We befriended after a long afternoon of swapping tales, and he claimed that I was Vallia Dracheherre of the Onoir Uroloki that died some time ago. I couldn't be sure if he was telling me something that should be believed or even trusted, but I had come to find that in this world a friend was a welcome commodity no matter who he believed you were and I realized that only the past since I had come forth from my slumber was important as well as the past that I was about to create....
