it states in the rules u need 5
All Units must have at least five active members, (i.e., they have fought in at least one of the last four battles) and a list must be kept by the Unity of its members. All five members do not have to show up at a given battle or all at the same time, but each must show up at least once every four battles to be considered active.

you have to have 5 members to be officially recognized as a unit by dagorhir.
otherwise your just a troupe who fights together, which is essentially a unit.

Masamune, yeah Like Baethor and Berrok are saying, sure you can start a unit of three right now, Mittelmarch will definitely recognize you guys, just nationally you can't register your unit till 5.
BTW Pretty stoked about a new unit, we could use some variety

Thanks, I'm thinking things up for it atm. It is just another thing I get to stack on my plate. Forming a unit, Preparing rules for my DnD campaign, preparing rules for my two-handed weapon class, preparing info for Friday practices, plus seeing if I can organize something together for Equinox, boy, I just have a ton on my plate don't I? Oh well, just more to eat I say!!

Hello guys!
I think this is the first time I have posted really, I hope I'll be able to make it to practice today. Thanks to Zaron for giving me a ride.
My backstory is not fully settled yet, but this is my first draft.
My name is Suihaden CadarnCalon ap Rys, Which is a Welsh name meaning in English Andrew StrongHeart of Rys, a small fortress castle in south Wales. I am a welsh Warrior driven from my home by Harold Godwine, earl of wessex. I have travled far and have reached the Edge of the land of MittelMarch where I met Zaron as he was chopping wood.
That's all for now folks.

Here is my complete backstory, In story format.
Suihaden wandered through the mist, helplessly lost. For once in his life his woodsmans sense of direction had failed him. "Blast this cursed mist!" he shouted in frustration. Suddenly, as if in response to his frusration, the mist faded away, revealing he stood in a dark wood. Suihaden looked around, shocked at his location. the trees were all strange and instead of the gully he had been running in when he met the mist, he was on the top of a wooded hill. "Ach well, 'least those cursed Saxons be not here." he then bounded down the slope with a silence that betrayed a skill of woodcraft beyond what most men posses. For many hours he kept up his tireless pace, until he heard the sharp whack of an axe thudding into a tree. Instantly he crouched, and slowly crept toward the sound. A few moments later he passed out of the forest and into sunshine. There over to his left he saw a man clothed in black and purple swinging an axe at a tree. in a moment the tree fell and the man turned. before Suihaden could crouch in the bracken, the man spotted him. "Ho Stranger!" the man shouted. "I see ya, come on out!" Figuring he could outdistance the man if nessacary Suihaden stepped out of the bushes and warily aproached. A few feet away from the man he stopped. "Well young'un whats the name?" he asked, seeing Suihaden's hesitation he said. "No need to worry, my name is Zaron, the Steward of Mittelmarch, though I'm retired for the moment as my knee was injured." Suihaden figured he could trust the man so he answerd "My name is Suihaden CadarnCalon and I hail from Rys in ta land of Wales though if ye be my friend ye may call me Sui." "Pleased to meet ya Sui," the man replied. "Ya be in the Land between lands, and the town down there is the fortress of Mittelmarch." he contiued gesturing at a colection of Stone buildings surrounded by walls and towers that lay further away from the forest. Suihaden relaxed the man seemed to be friendly, a rumbling in his stomach reminded him he had not eaten sice the English had swarmed into his village. Zaron heard it too, "here, why don't you come with me and have a little bite to eat." "Thank ye, I'm famising." Suihaden replied. Later after a full meal Zaron told him the history of Mittelmarch. When he finished he asked, "by the way, can you fight?" Suihaden looked a little shamefacedly at his only weapon, a crude shourtsword, then replied. "Aye, a little." "here then." and Zaron took two swords down from a rack on the wall and handed him one. "lets see how you fight." Suihaden stood facing Zaron, a little intimidated by his size, circled him. Then, Suihaden sprang with the fierce welsh spring that had felled many a warrior. With the speed of lighting Zaron blocked his blow, and struck him to the ground. "less agressiveness, more strategy," Zaron told him "find your oponets niche and make him expose himself." a little more cautious, Suihaden again circled, this time Zaron took the offensive and struck quickly, Suihaden manged to block the blow and slashed at his oponet, only to agin bite the boards when Zaron swept his legs out underneath him. "Don't telegraph your movements." he advised, "look behind your adversary and use your perifial vision to watch his movements." Once again the two foughtnad this time Suihaden managed to slash Zaron's arm beore he was vanquished. "Excellent job!" Zaron told him. "I have a feeling you will make an excellent addition to our fighting force." "You mean I can stay?" suihaden asked. "Of course, here, let me get you a room in the dormatory." THE END (for now at least) Thanks a million Zaron for making this possible. See ya when I get back!

(A man with a white mask, simple clothes, and a fine cape comes up upon hearing others tell tales.)
IC: Hello my name is Giggles "OC: (sounds as Giles)." My story, as much of it as I can remember, may bring a tear to your eye. Not so long ago I was part of the noble and wealthy House of Tigeron. I had enjoyed many things: women, food, even (coughs, slaughtering) some creatures for sport, whatever I wanted was always mine, one way or the other. However one day my father calls me in, tears in his eyes. I "feared" he was passing and giving me the inheritances; as the eldest had left to be a sailor of sorts. But instead he says this to me "Oh my beloved son. I've tried to raise you with a sense of honor, respect and loyalty. But I've heard from the villagers how you torment them, how you betray them, and even about your 'hungers.' I always knew but tried not to believe it but I can no longer turn a blind eye to your actions. From here on you are banished from your home you will not know the way back till you learn the true meaning of honor and loyalty. You will be cursed with a mask which will not be lifted from your face until you learn your lessons, and until you do you will not be permitted back to the lands of your birth. If you fail me the curse will consume you." "But father," I pleaded, " I may die on my own and away from the house of my birth, it is all I know, please don't send me away to die all alone!" "I won't," my father said, "I've summoned your eldest brother back from the seas to journey with you. Though he left us, for an adventure, he learned about being honorable and loyal to your friends. When he tells me you are ready to return then you will be accepted back to the House of Tigeron." Almost everything is a blur after that now I travel with my brother hoping one day to be home as I was wrongly evicted by the lies of filthy peasants. So here I am trying to make a living as a simple merchant selling my wares with my cart outside. If you would like an elixir or a drink try some out there, for a price. (He points out the window from which a cart can be seen. Posted on the very simple cart is the words "Caveat emptor")

Batu was born in Mittelmarch but journeyed to Stormhaven in pursuit of knowledge in war and history. He began as a foot soldier and now plans on instructing others in warfare. He busies himself with calculation and strategy when not engaging enemies on the front line. Batu has fought and trained alongside many members of Mittelmarch and hopes to return to them soon, as he considers them one of his closest allies.

I'm Aloys Amirz-Slaiat-Ta, Skoir-Yûl. I've come down from the north, where I grew up as part of a clan of snow orcs. I faced my ordeal during my 15th winter by cutting the wings of off a griffin, plus taking a bit extra for myself. As soon as my shaman confirmed the end of my ordeal and announced that I was now a free adult, no longer bound to my family, I left. I took my dad's sword and his old pendant and left, seeking warmer climes to the south. I'd be interested in meeting him some day, he had to return home from his mission before I arrived, but it would be difficult for me to cross the poison waters to see him.
