so i was going through some rules and found this game in the rule book. I sure alot of you know about it. I decided to throw a spin on it and change some stuff aroundto make it easer to run.
First make a "bridge" that can be 8 people wide and 35 feet to 40 feet long.
Each side will be 8 people across and 2 deep.
The frount line will be shield men with blues, with no armor.
the Rooks, Knights, and Bishops "not the people" poissons will be alowed to use any weapon set they would like. but no shields.
The King and queen are the only two who can wear armor. Queen any weapon set and king has to be sword and board.
For the first 30 sec missles only. Harold can make it shorter is not many missle weapons are preasent and it is lame.
Then call bazerkers anyone in the back line who is not the king or queen goes to the middle and fights if they wish. they can attack the other teams shield wall or the other teams bazerkers.
The shield wall is allowed to attack the bazerkers but can not break rank and can only take one step and attack.
After 20 sec for the bazerkers call "Grand Melee" Two team bridge battle untill one team is dead then do it again.
Add and make changes if u see any that needs to be done hope to play test tuesday.
I think times and amount of players might have to be changed during sercomstances

the problem with this battle is that it takes 32 people to play the way that you have described it. sounds interesting but at the moment in the realm we really don't have enough people at practice to make it a feasible battle at this time. We might be able to tweak the rules a bit to see how things work, but right now the only thought going through my head is i don't see how these rules would work with MM, this could be great at a small event like a battleathon or something along those lines though

Oof, the simple fix to play testing this battle with smaller numbers is to simply shrink the ridge. Cut down from 8 wide to 6 wide, or 5 wide, etc using the same idea of chess pieces and their movements, you could use rooks as archers, bishops with javs, etc, as well as the idea of berserks in lue of knights or bishops. I think there is definitely some potential with this battle, just requires a little play testing to see where common problems arise, and solve them. Could be a fun battle on days where a couple dozen or so show up, and the same ole kill-your-killer, and free for alls just aren't getting the job done. Nice call Berrok. Glad to see you are doing your homework.

i found it in the 2003 rule book. I new the number of players would be a problem. I going to try to come up with games while i am not able to play. I will post them and hope people can play test.
