"what must i do to gain any trust. let you cut me down? I will do this even though dieing hurts beyond belief I will do this because this darkness that moves troubles me and the wood." with that he kneels down and leans forward and offers his neck. "but after wards will you trust me? will you tell me what you know? I only wish to find my parents in each respect. will you tell me who is watching us so carfully and who else is being watched ? i could help, we can trade assistance with eachother but first let me proov myself to you both! cut me down."

Kotaro's blade sang through the air, but stopped a hair's breadth from beheading the man. "You have offered your head as assurance. I will not take it. Yet."
With one smooth, almost liquid motion, Kotaro sheathed his katana. "I still don't trust you, but I will listen to and speak with you."
He nodded to Authion. "Would you prefer to fill Wolfblade in, or shall I?"

Authion’s sword sang out in a blur of motion, a split second faster than Kotaro’s. Sweeping out in a low arc, it came to rest poised above the stranger’s throat. Behind the elf Mornaur snorted and sidled uneasily but obediently remained still, awaiting his master’s orders. Though Kotaro withdrew and sheathed his sword Authion did not immediately follow; keeping his blade at the stranger’s throat a long second more. After a moment though, he too, withdrew his sword but did not sheathe it. Though the hard expression on his face had eased somewhat his emerald eyes remained narrowed and suspicion glittered in them.
He glanced first from Kotaro then to Wolfblade, and back; choosing his words carefully as he spoke. “I have sensed it since our arrival. We of elven-kind are nature’s children, and deeply attuned to it whether or not we have magic. If we listen, she speaks to us. There is a storm rising, and building. Of what I could not say, but that much I can sense. My warriors do as well. There is a sense of…watching to the air, or perhaps waiting. My lady-queen might be able to say better.” The elf glanced back guardly to Wolfblade, but did not lower his voice.
“But she is not here. Honored Olore took her out beyond the walls this morning. Why, I know not. I was going to wait to see if they returned before going to you or your lord, but it has been a few hours since they left. However, I do not feel there is need to go in search of them. With Olore with her my lady is well-protected and more than capable of defending herself. Not only that, but they would not have gone beyond the walls for no reason and I know Olore well enough to know that, if he did not want to be found they would not be, and all searching be futile. I have to trust that they will return soon.”
He addressed Wolfblade solely now. “Trust is given when merited, not when asked. I do not trust you. However, like Kotaro, I will grant you the courtesy of listening to and speaking with you. Trust is not required for that."
The elf-knight lifted an eyebrow Kotaro's direction at the man's question but did not take his eyes off Wolfblade. "Both of us, I would think. I do not know all-only scattered things. Perhaps I tell him what I know, and then you take over. Should your lord and the one you call Akaruri be informed of this one though? Or should we wait until my lady-queen and Olore have returned?” He gave Kotaro what seemed like a questioning look while holding out an arm to keep the still agitated Mornaur at bay, and behind him. “They know more than I.”

His gaze slid back to Wolfblade now and his voice was cautious, measured. “I can attempt to tell you what you wish to know but I do not know what Kotaro might, whom is a resident of this land. Therefore, my knowledge might be lacking. You ask who is watching us. That, Kotaro might know, but I do not. I can guess however, based upon whom I know to be watching my lady-queen and her companion, Olore. Perhaps that then, might give you part of the answer you seek
“There is a sorcerer in this land, a dark one, by the name of Telemachus. By all accounts he is dangerous, and rather powerful. It could be that he is the one whom watches. For all that I have heard he is no friend to this land and, in fact factored heavily in a war against its people a few years ago as I understand it?” He quirked a slanted eyebrow to Kotaro for confirmation, then continued.
“He and my queen had an encounter during that time, where he had arranged her ambush and capture as she was journeying to find help and allies. I was not with then. She was recalled to this land now by a vassal of Kotaro’s lord and a dear friend to her, to help again for the new threat that has arisen-of which the sorcerer is seemingly again a part. In the time since we have been here my lady has been contacted by the sorcerer twice and wishes a meeting with her, which has been set for tomorrow eve.
“We can only guess at what he may want with her, but I believe it has something to do with their first encounter. From the contents of the letter he somehow slipped into her room we might guess that he wants this…’Azoth’s Gate’ even as you do-as well as a powerful scepter in the possession of these…Jovians that currently seem soon to threaten Mittelmarch. If you can help…your assistance might be welcome but if you seek to accompany to this meeting with the sorcerer that is not in my power to grant, nor Kotaro’s.”
Authion ceased now; looking to Kotaro. “Is there aught you would add Kotaro ohtar?”

"I can inform my lord and vassal indirectly," Kotaro said. He snapped his fingers, and within seconds, a shinobi dropped deftly from a nearby tree. "What would you ask of me, my lord?" the man asked. "Inform Tatsumura-dono and Akaruri-kun that we have a..." He glanced at Wolfblade. "...a visitor in the courtyard." The man nodded and ran off to complete his task.
"I would add that the second communique from Telemachus was delivered by a means that we've not yet discovered. I have the senior shugenja investigating and hopefully, if we're very lucky, he'll determine it's source. Although I believe it to be a somewhat moot point now."

standing up with a sigh "thank you, it does hurt to die and to go through the blood resurection. Imagine the pain of dieing then going through it again slowly in reverse having all your organs burning your blood filled with pain. This Magi you spake of left a letter i may be able to use it to scry the situation or stop him from being uninvited again. If he truly seaches for Azoths gate why would he need an elven lady? The lady Queen may be safe with her companion but there are ways to seperate the two. streaching then scratching his chin he shakes his head then I hate this every time i use the runes i get this dark forbidding parinoia, such happins when you divine things!

"Well where to start. I am born of noble blood. My parents died a younger age during a great war that took the both of them, I was raised by my common people and ofcourse my dearest friend, My teacher and mentor." I said before adding, "Now, to speak of Kanthea, It is full of flowering plants, creatures of old and new, friends and foes alike. But all answer to the King of Kanthea. The common folk are nice in the outer lieing cities and towns. Trees grow tall and old. Rivers and streams seem to surround everywhere. We have fought along side MittelMarch through some of its hardships."
Well I tried to move forward to help this maiden against the dark figure but I couldnt move, there was a slight barrier keeping me from stepping forward. The dark figure stared at me with such intensity and then went after this maiden. I used a small incantation and the barrier left, I ran towards the dark figure and communing with nature to try and stop him. He froze where he stood under ice, but it melted a few seconds after. I tried to vine him to the grow he just burnt them away like nothing. And then a white horse found the maiden and nudged her to move towards the open light, her and the stallion left, and I was the one left with this dark figure. A battle raged between us and each time the other would recoop as if nothing had happened, until I summoned the trees to fight, and then the dark figure gave up." I said.
"A few hours? Your funny." I sat back and chuckled."Faux, they dont seem to understand me that much huh."
Denendir sat on Faux and begin to chant some words, mist and fog grew all around encasing them in it directly. It started to swirl faster and faster. I looked to Olore and Elestirne and said, "Do not fear and whatever you do dont get off Olore and dont move."

The ever changing weather from ice to snow to rain to shine has caused a dense fog. It would make most weary to travel, in worry the mist may take them somewhere they do not wish. Telemachus doesn’t fear the mist he sees it as we see words on paper. He rides inside an unmarked wagon, reined by 2 hooded guards and another at the back. The wagon full of books and cases he gathered from his lair. He sits and reads as they travel towards Mittelmarch. He glimpses outside to see the Kyuden house in the distance.
“Halt!” he orders.
He looks around. His Elvin eyes see the Kyuden spanning the mountain edge. He grins, “I suppose this is close enough.”
“Men make a fire.”
He settles back in the wagon and meditates. He reaches out to Elestirne as if like a dream.
“Come tonight, you may bring Alore and a guard, but if any other I will know and I will leave. And the fate of the Land Between will be on your hands.”
Edit: forgot what time it was

Authion nodded to Kotaro. "Some sort of magic,a spell. More than that I could not discern. Perhaps one of my spellweavers can assist your shugenja. We know it comes from Telemacchus though, that much is certain. What kind of magic he used to deliver it is another matter altogether. Mayhaps Olore will consent to examine my queen's room when he and my lady return. You and I both know he is adept with such things. But perhaps the point is 'moot',as you say.
He looked to Wolfblade, his emerald eyes narrowing again. "The letter in question is in my queen's possesion. She read it to us,but did not allow us to handle it. It will be for her to decide if you may look at it." Authion's voice took on a slightly icy tone. "As for why the sorceror would need an elven lady when he seeks Azoth's Gate,is beyond me to understand. But, as I said, I believe he desires this meeting because of something to do with their first encounter."
At Wolfblade's next to last remark, the elven-knight shared a faintly wry look with Kotaro. His face lost none of its solemnity though,as he turned back to the other. " Anyone seeking to get near my lady must first get through Olore. None have yet succeeded. Those who wish to try best be prepared for a swift death. Olore is dauntless in both defense and protection of my queen and, though he may not always be visible he is ever nearby. It is nigh impossible to separate the two and you come between them at your grave peril."
Raising his gaze to the sky, which had grown overcast and foggy, the elf added. "If she and Olore do not return soon though, I shall go seeking-whether or not Olore wants them found.

Both Olore and Elestirne's eyes narrowed at Denendir's elaboration on his vision;both in worried thoughtfullness. What are your thoughts Olore?
A dark figure trying to get to a maiden of light? Almost certainly 'tis to mean Telemachus and yourself. A horse of light protecting the maiden from the dark? Myself clearly-even if the color in his seeing is incorrect. Denendir battling this dark figure whilst I lead you away? Perhaps it means he will play a part in the meeting between Telemachus and us. Interesting,to say the very least.
To Denendir he said, with only the slightest backward tilting of ears, At our current pace it would take only a few hours. If I did not wish to appear in a normal fashion we would already be there. But I see no reason to alarm anyone unduly, though you may think this funny. As for understanding, that is something that comes with time, and of that we have not had much together. Elestirne's silver eyes registered faint surprise. "That you were of noble blood I guessed from your crown and the title you gave yourself Denendir. But royalty is another matter." She inclined her head lightly-equal to equal. "Possibly, you have guessed the same of me. I am the Queen of Artanor by all that is right and natural. My parents also, are long dead. One murdered, the other of grief." Pain shadowed her melodic voice. "I witnessed both as a child, and was raised afterwards by the steward of the realm and the ancient seer. But my tale is too long to tell of here, now. I would tell of my realm, but I do not know where to begin." She stiffened at seeing the fog and mist roll in to envelop them and looked to Denendir;knowing it to be a spell and sensing the magic in it. "What have you done?" Her tone was curious, but not alarmed.
A spell of concealment and protection, Olore supplied. His words were audible to Denendir as well. Mixed, seemingly, with one of swift travel. Impatient to get to Tatsumura's hold are we? Effective though. The silver stallion snorted, and shook out his mane with a sigh. So much for arriving normally...unless you mean to dispell it shortly before we come in sight of the walls?

"What have I done? I simply have cast a concealment and protection and swift means of travel. I shall not put us inside the walls for it will alarm all those who see us. I shall put us outside the walls just a bit beyond the forest edge, so normal it shall stay." With that a slight dip in his head to show he was of no trickery.

Elestirne nodded slightly in understanding, and looked around curiously as the mist moved them along;intrigued by the spell. Olore merely snorted;a certain satisfaction in the sound. A compromise...that is well.
They continued on for a time, and then Olore suddenly halted. His fine head came up,his sculpted ears went flat along his skull and his nostrils flared as he breathed out, hard. He went perfectly, utterly still-every muscle in his frame tense. The subtle silver light limning him brightened and his narrowed eyes flared with their own starry, indigo light.
Elestirne started to lean forward, and lay a hand on his arched neck, but then she to,went still. She tensed as she felt another's mind brush against her's,and recoiled as she recognized the voice that spoke. Her piercing silver eyes flared brightly and the hand not on Olore's neck edged towards one of the swords girt at her waist. The one word she spoke to Olore was tinged with dismay and surprise. Him!
Olore snorted, pawing the ground. His ears remained laced back as he echoed the elven-queen grimly. Him indeed... The stallion's nostrils flared anew as he lifted his muzzle to scent the air. He is nearby to be able to reach you mind to mind. And-no matter if he is miles away-that he is nearby enough to contact you by mind is still to near. Especially considering you were not to meet until tomorrow eve. We must return to the hold. Tatsumura and the others must be told this immediately.
Elestirne nodded. Her fair face had paled, and there was a slightly sticken look on it. He is not supposed to be here... The meeting he wants was set for tomorrow eve-now he changes it to tonight? If he has broken with that, then I doubt he has kept the promise to come alone...[/,i]
Thus why he says that you may bring guards, lady. It means he will have them too. He has that much sense of equality at least. I note he does not include me as a guard. He is wise enough to realize I will be with you whether he likes it or not The stallion's voice hardened. Let us not delay and get back to the kyuden. The others deserve to hear of this and we have only some hours to decide on your 'guards', and what shall, can be done. Masamune windwalker will not be happy to learn of Telemachus's nearness. And he,along with the others, will be angry to learn of this new contact, and concerned. The sooner we get back to the kyuden, the better. We are almost at the treeline now.
With a sharp, decisive movement, Olore stamped the ground. Silver light flared up briefly where his hoof made contact and the mists, fog and sense of traveling fell away abruptly;revealing the end of the trees and,a short distance away, the walls of the kyuden. Snorting, the stallion cavaled in place;starry blue eyes fixing briefly on a certain spot before drifting to the kyuden and to Denendir. With a snort and toss of his mane,he adressed him. I regret interfering with your spell, but we cannot linger out here. We must get back within the kyuden's walls. Now. His muzzle jerked back to indicate Elestirne, still slightly pale.
There is danger to her,a new contact by he we mentioned. If you wish still to accompany us inside you may but I will rather have her within the security of the walls before we answer any questions you have. I will chance nothing. His starry blue eyes held Denendir's,burning with an indigo light. My lady?
Elestirne nodded slightly;her silver eyes flashing guardly from side to side. "Let us get within the walls and tell the others what has happened."

Looking from Olore to Elestirne, Denendir sees a slight tenseness as Elestirne reaches for her sword. Reaches behind him, a vine covered quiver slowly grows onto his back, filled with strong wood arrows.
"I nothing is gravely wrong, as long as Im here no one can touch you." Denendir said with reassurance, "Alright, inside the walls we shall go. For safety of both of you comes first."

Olore snorted and, without wasting time to comment, broke into a smooth canter. The pace was set so that Denendir's mare could keep up,yet was still swift. When they were only a few minutes from the walls the stallion sent out his thoughts to four minds as he had early that morning;his message this time tinged with a subtle, but definete, current of anger as well as concern, and his grim tone brooking no arguement.
All of you, meet us as soon as you can. Whatever else you are doing now matters not. My lady and I bring disturbing news, another contact by Telemachus. We will explain more fully when all of you are assembled and we are safetly within the walls. You will not like what you will hear. Another accompanies us but you need not fear him. He is a friend to Mittelmarch.
Scarcely a minute after the sending the silver stallion reached the walls. The guards, only barely forewarned, were just then pulling the gates open to admit him as he cantered through;not checking his pace in the least. Trotting to a gradual halt,Olore quickly picked out two familiar figures and paced deliberately towards them. Elestirne,he sensed, had relaxed somewhat once within the walls, but was still tense. He sensed her stiffening slightly on his back and he realized there was a stranger with Kotaro and Authion. The stallion paused briefly in his stride before deciding that the two would have the sense not to answer him aloud directly in front of the stranger, and continueing on to halt right next to the three. Authion,he noted with keen eyes, had his sword unsheathed at his side and was giving the stranger a suspicious, wary look. His war-horse Mornaur danced uneasily behind him.
The elven-knight's look shifted briefly to one of startlement as Olore and Elestirne approached and belatedly the stallion realized that he had not given much time between his sending and his arrival. He shrugged mentally. It mattered not now. Tossing his head,he spoke to both Kotaro and Authion, though the question was addressed more towards Kotaro. His voice was calm,as always, but a note of anger crackled under the deeply musical tones. Where is Tatsumara and Storm? We must speak. All of us. And now. There is no time to waste on waiting. You will not like the news my lady Elestirne and I have but it must be heard. Immediately.
Almost as an afterthought,Olore added. This elf with us calls himself Denendir, Lord of Kanthea. He seems to be a friend of Mittelmarch and to know of you Kotaro, and your lord Tatsumura. The stallion's ears went back slightly as he briefly looked at the stranger. And who is this?

"This is Wolfblade," Kotaro replied, addressing all three of the new arrivals. He is not to be trusted, he added to Olore. "Come," he said aloud. "We need to find Akaruri-kun and Tatsumura-dono now." Gesturing, he led them all inside the castle, careful to keep Wolfblade in the center of the group.
He glanced at Olore. What news were you given?

As Olore drew to a halt and approached Kotaro and Authion Elestirne offered a brief nod to them, though she remained tense. That tenseness increased upon noting the stranger and she stiffened in the saddle, casting Kotaro and Authion a curious look. Olore asked the question before she could however, and she heard both Kotaro's mental and audible replies. She gave the stranger a wary nod;noting as she did so that Authion's sword was unsheathed and at his side;seeming further testament to Kotaro's warning.
Olore snorted, keeping his ears laced back as he briefly scrutinized the stranger. So I can tell by yours and Authion's actions friend shadowalker. If he were to be trusted you would be more relaxed around him and Authion would not have his sword out. Does he know of me? Of what I am?
Elestirne dismounted in a fluid motion, but one somehow less graceful than usual. She kept one hand on Olore's arched neck as she spoke;choosing her words with care as she glanced warily to the one Kotaro had called Wolfblade. " Yea,let us find them. There are words I have for you both that they must hear as well." With a slight gesture of her hand, she indicated Denendir. "Words he has as well that should be heard. I came upon him while riding and he seems a friend of Mittelmarch by his words and by the ring he wears."
"My queen," Authion broke in worriedly, seeming to regain his voice after his startlement at her and Olore's sudden arrival. And Olore's sending too,she noted. "You are pale. What has happened in your ride beyond the walls?" His gaze strayed warily to Denendir.
Elestirne shook her head gently, sending ripples of silver through the midnight strands. Her gaze locked on his momentarily before shifting briefly to include Denendir and Kotaro. "Not here my friend. I shall tell you when we have found Storm and Tatsumura."
Olore shook out his mane and added what she did not. And not in front of this..Wolfblade either. What we have to say is only for your ears and those of Storm and Tatsumura windwalker. The silver stallion paused a moment, then broadened his thoughts to include Denendir. And Denendir. He has earned the right to hear this news as well. As Elestirne says,he has words that you should all hear also.
As Kotaro began to lead them into the castle Authion dimissed Mornaur and bade him be gone with an apoligetic pat on the muzzle;knowing that one of his warriors would look after the stallion for him. Elestirne, with a nod to Denendir, indicated that he should do the same, and let Faux follow the blood-bay stallion. She and Olore moved to the front of the group as they moved inside while Authion, instead of taking his customary place behind her, fell in behind Wolfblade and Denendir,;keeping them in the center of the group. She noted that, though he had sheathed his sword,he kept his hand near it.
They walked briefly in silence before Kotaro voiced a question. Olore's ears, which had started to prick forward again, laced back once more against his skull. The anger in his voice as he answered was clear this time. His thoughts once again included Denendir.
Our news Kotaro? The stallion snorted;indigo eyes flaring briefly. [My lady Elestirne was contacted again by Telemachus,as we had started back for the kyuden. The sorceror has changed the meeting to this very night instead of tomorrow eve,as was agreed.
Worse,he is already in the area, which I know not only because I can sense him,but because he reached out and contacted my lady mind to mind-something he could not have done if he were not relatively near. And to my mind-even if he is some miles away-that he is near enough to contact her in this manner is far too near. And twice in one day does not sit well at all in my mind either. We must talk and plan immediately-for we have only hours before night is come. He has told Elestirne she may bring guards-not including I,as he already knows I will accompany. This tells me he did not come alone,as he also agreed to. How many gaurds he has I cannot guess but I would say no more than three or four. More than that would draw attention. The stallion's tone was grim. We must find your lord and Storm swiftly Kotaro. We do not have any time to waste on waiting. Denendir we can include in the meeting...but not Wolfblade. I would bestow him elsewhere, where he can neither spy nor eavesdrop.

Naturally, Kotaro replied. That would simply be inviting trouble. I've taken enough of a risk simply allowing him inside the castle. Now where could Tatsumura and Storm be... Can you reach them, Olore-sama?

I would get nowhere doing anything harmful to any of you. not to mention i will not hear any more of this Telemachus that also looks for the gate. If it comes out to be too dangerous to even use I must destroy the thing, but getting to the point of finding that out is far off, let alone how to unmake the thing. If you have any questions just ask , I will even open my mind for telepathy if you wish. I only ask that you give me the chance to prove my worth for i am alone in this world right now and have no allies." turning around and offering his hands with a slight smile "wish you bind me master Elf, I have no objections I am uninvited." Olore's indigo gaze was implacable and his laid back ears flickered briefly. Then you should not have. You could have called others to watch over him. But what's done is done and Authion seems to have the watching well in hand. What have you two told him of me,if anything? I know the three of you were speaking ere Elestirne and I returned with Denendir. I would know why he is here,if you can tell me. His tone turned slightly curious. I would also have thought to see some reaction from you for this news...unless you deliberately are keeping yourself from doing so in front of the stranger,or have great control. Regardless of which it is I can still sense that you are,at least, none too happy for this news. And your lord Tatsumura will probally be even less so. As for what you ask...I called to them the same moment I called to you and Authion. Why they have not answered yet or joined with us I know not, but,as I recall, Storm was going to talk to some of the...shinobi? and your lord had tasks of his own to attend to-so he said. But my lady and I have been out beyond the walls for hours. That should have been time enough for them both to complete what they were doing. Perhaps my first sending was not urgent enough-though strange it is that they would not still answer.
Breaking the connection and narrowing his thoughts, the silver stallion sent a powerful, undeniable sending to Storm and Tatsumura. His tone was grim, angry, urgent and concerned all at once, and left no room at all for arguement. Windwalker, Storm come at once! We have not one moment to waste. My lady and I have just come in from the ride we took and there is urgent news. Elestirne has been contacted again by Telemachus. The dark one has moved the time of the meeting to this very eve instead of tomorrow! We must meet now to plan-for dark is only a few hours off. It is imperative you come and you cannot delay. Every second lost is time wasted. Come. Now.
Reopening his mind to the others,he snorted grimly;satisfied. The strength of this sending would waken Storm and Tatsumura if they slept, and compel them to answer with all haste if they did not. It was the same strength as the one he had sent this morning,at the discovery of Telemachus's letter.
Pricking his ears faintly,he adressed Denendir. Telemachus,as you may have surmised by now, is the dark one my lady and I spoke of. We have encountered him before and he is a powerful sorceror, and a dangerous opponent. I believe he may be the one you saw in your vision of us. So now you may understand my lady Elestirne's reaction. If you have any questions or comments, speak. We will welcome whatever input you may have to add.

Another contact by Telemachus? Twice in one day? I knew I should have followed after you two when I saw you go out! Authion's mind-voice was incredulous and held barely concealed anger. And he has moved the meeting up to tonight instead of tomorrow as was agreed? And he brings guards? My lady-queen,Elestirne I do not care what you say,nor what protests you may raise-I am coming with you for this. It is too dangerous. The elven-knight hand slipped again to his sword, his eyes burning. Doubtless this fiend thinks to catch you off guard by this shift in plans, and mayhaps assume that he has come alone. I will not have you doing so!
We hardly need to have the message revoiced Authion, Olore's voice carried a slight-but stinging-rebuke. We are all quite aware of it,and your guess at his motive for switching times may be a good one but we still do not need it voiced.
No, Elestirne spoke for the first time now. Her mind-voice was but a soft murmur, but it was clearly audible. He is too smart for that. As Olore said...he brings guards,so he will expect the same of me as well;knowing that Olore and I do not trust him. And perhaps, in some warped way, showing me respect and a sense of equality. He knows I will not come alone-and likely, guesses that I would not be allowed to even if I wanted. She sighed softly, her face troubled, worried. I hope Tatsumura and Storm come swiftly. The sooner this is decided and resolved, the sooner we can go out to him and I find out what he wants of me badly enough to contact me so. I like this even less than the rest of you. It was too much to hope that our first encounter would also be the last and the ending of any dealings with him or his minions. The hand not twined in Olore's long mane went to her side as she remembered that encounter, and the ghosts of old wounds pained her briefly. Olore bent his noble head to nuzzle her.
I will be with you this time Elestirne. And others. He turned a sharp glance to Authion;sensing the elven-knight was about to speak again. I can guess what you are about to say and it is unecessary. Your feelings on the matter are already known knight-commander. It does little good revoicing them, however good your attempt to reassure her.
Chagrined, the elf subsided, and returned Wolfblade's look evenly for a long moment before shaking his head. "No. I will not bind your hands. Though we do not trust you-and I am sure you understand why-you have done nothing to merit such treatment. Not yet,and not from me at least. You may want to help, but that you have your own motives that we do not know of is one of the reasons we cannot trust you. But you are right in saying you would get nowhere trying to harm one of us. We all are well-trained warriors, even my lady-queen and her equine companion.
"Telemachus is dangerous, and very powerful. My lady faced him once, and now he seeks another meeting with her-as I have already said. More than this you have not yet earned the right to know. As for proving yourself and your worth...we shall see."

turning back around and resting his hands on the back of his head. "i know i am overly impatient. I seek Azoths gate to reach the demonic realm and kill my Father so i may return to my Mother, an elven noble. I have tried to scry and the way is blocked by the magi of the land. If lady Elf is need of magickal protection(noting her position).. or healing from grim wounds, she has but to ask." now looking at the horse(olore) "I have already figured there is a strong bond betwixt you and the lady. You may be magickal, a familiar, or even just an elder beast. i ask not to know which. Yet I am very curious to Know What you are out side of intelligent."

Seeing that Olore's words were wise and helpful to understand all that befell the ealier hours, Denendir sought out the many comforts of his totem necklace, he started to rub one of these that looked as that of a hawk. Almost instantly a screeching noise came nearer and nearer. A hawk dove down and just before coming upon Denendir, swooshed up and landed on his arm.
"Nice to see you ole friend" Denendir said patting and smoothing the ruffled feathers that were afloat before continuing, "This is Alfax. He has guarded the forst around Tatsumara for quite some time, if anything happens or is seen by the animals, he will send us a messenger."
"I have not many questions other than what power does this, Telemachus hold? Good or Evil? And can he be stopped?", Denendir asked.

"anything can be stopped you should be asking the cost of stopping it. as for finding out what power has he i could try to read his thoughts or that of his company if he has one to glean information. But dont be mistaken power itself is never good nor evil ,it just is. The good and evil comes from its user. Nice totem spirit, Havent seen one of them scince i left the viking tribe. Its odd how we walk and walk yet never arive, this place must have great complexity. But i dont have much to compair this with. Cities are new to me still and i only know of natural settings beyond that . So many new things that i only have heard of before. Master Kotaro, if you show me a spot out of the way i could try to scry this from this telemascus or what is around him and be out of your way for awile ." droping his hands back down to his sides he lowers his head and mutters "Im tring way to hard, the shaman would be laughing now. "I believe it is the magic of the land, rather than its' magic-user's,which blocks your attempt, "Authion said. "There is strong magic here, which I can sense clearly even if I cannot use it." The elven-knight's took on a guarded expression. "My lady-queen is the Lady Elestirne,a friend of this land and queen of a distant elven-realm. I am Authion, her knight-commander-a general you might say- called sometimes either Lord, Captain-or both, depending upon whom is adressing me. As to the offer you make of my queen..."
"It is well-meaning,but unneeded." Elestirne spoke unexpectedly. Her soft, lilting voice was full of quiet music;cool and gentle. "As Kotaro can attest to-having personally witnessed it-I am quite a powerful healer in my own right. As to magical protection...that also is seen to." Her silver eyes flickered meaningfully to Olore and the silver stallion-who had halted, turned and gently nudged Kotaro to do the same- nickered and fixed his indigo blue orbs unblinkingly on Wolfblade as she continued.
"My companion is...quite powerful in that regard and-though I am no mage or magic-user, I have my own abilities and measures of protection woven about my person. But your offer is appreciated Wolfblade."
Authion-about to speak again-abrubtly stilled at Wolfblade's questions to Olore, and started to shake his head in amazement. No one had ever dared to ask Olore such a thing-at least, never so brazenly. The elven-knight and the other elves of Artanor accepted what the stallion chose to tell of himself and did not press him for further hints or clues unless he offered them himself. None of them knew exactly what he was or why he had chosen to be Elestirne's companion and-from the conversation the knight had had last night with Kotaro-he suspected the same was true here. With bated breath,he looked to Olore;anticipating the stallion's reaction. Elestirne also looked to the stallion;but her gaze was expectant, her expression curious.
Olore held Wolfblade with his starry indigo eyes for a long, long moment. His expression was considering-perhaps even faintly amused. His voice, when he spoke-keeping his thoughts open to the others-was deep, regal, and solemn. That is not for you to know. Others besides you have asked-or guessed-and all have been wrong, even if some have come somewhat near. On all three counts you are wrong. Though I do have magic I am not created by it, nor ruled or subject to it. It is a part of me,but it is not all of me. Content yourself with knowing that I am nothing mortal and do not ask again.
Curiousity is a good trait to have, but asking what you should not gets one in trouble. As does grasping at knowledge not meant for you. I am guardian, companion, and friend of Lady Elestirne and choose to remain at her side as such for as long as she wishes my companionship. To her-and her only-am I loyal and devoted, and any that seek to threaten or harm her must first get past me. The starry indigo eyes flared. And I am dauntless in my defence and protection of her,so it is most unwise to try. Those who have tried have regretted doing so. If they lived long enough to. As for what I am besides intelligent...that is not for you to know. A great friend or ally if you prove yourself worthy....a terrible and powerful enemy should you not. I see the character of mortals so do not try to decieve me. My name, is Olore. Whether that is my true name or merely the one I choose to be called by matters not,and you shall not find out. But it is the one you will call me by.

Elestirne stroked Olore's neck with a faint smile;casting a reassuring look towards Authion, who still seemed dumbfounded that one would dare ask such questions of the stallion-and awed by Olore's blunt, but tolerant, response. Plainly,he thought Olore would have been harsher in his answer, and his tone. She knew better. Olore was...Olore.
She watched with interest as the hawk summoned by Denedir's totem swooped up to settle on his arm. The bird must have found an open window or hall through which to enter. She nodded faintly at his claim;hearing the truth in his words. At the questions of Telemachus though, she visibly tensed.
Olore, standing close beside her, laced his sculpted ears back briefly in displeasure. His ears pricked forward faintly though as Wolfblade spoke and he nodded his fine head very slightly, though his depthless indigo eyes flared with a spark of anger.
What you say is true Wolfblade. Good and evil come from the innate nature-the heart-of the one in question. Power is niether initially. It simply is. Who takes it up,and what is wrought with it,is what later labels it good or evil. One might call me good, but it is perhaps more accurate to say that I am an ally of those called 'good', and an enemy of those on the side of 'evil'. Good and evil are distinctions made by the individual or group,as are right and wrong. What is good-or right-to one may be seen as the opposite to others. Seldom are things simply 'black and white' as you beings like to say-save perhaps with the gods, and with those of my nature. Often there are many shades of grey in between. Things are not always what they seem and one should not assume that what they see or percieve with their eyes is the truth.
The stallion snorted then;his eyes narrowing. With Telemachus though... Through his actions you might, perhaps, call him 'evil'. He has killed many-even those who serve him I believe-with nary a thought, and he has threatened this land several times-fighting against them in a war once. And we know he seeks Azoth's Gate, the demon's amulet, and sides with these Jovians which are seemingly the new threat to this land. I believe he would kill, without hesitation, all the inhabitants of this land to achieve what he wishes if he had to. He tried to tempt my lady to join him,our first journey here, and even managed to briefly capture her so that he could do so;slaying much of her escort to do so and attacking Mittelmarch almost at the same time.
Elestirne lowered her gaze briefly-a look of pain in her silver eyes-and Olore nuzzled her tenderly before continueing. His voice was hard.
For this,I hold myself no friend of him,nor does Mittelmarch or Kotaro, his lord and their people. Some things are certain but there are two sides to everything. Draw your own conclusions. But he is dangerous, cunning, and powerful, certainly. And has caused much suffering. Do not underestimate him. Olore's eyes flared with indigo fire. He cannot stand against me though and I think he knows this. And yes,Denendir. Most anything can be stopped. But there is always a cost to doing so and the question then becomes: would you be willing to pay the price asked when payment comes due? Some prices are too high.
He focused his indigo gaze solely on Wolfblade now,his tone one of warning. Do not try to read his thoughts, or that of his guards, nor scry him. He will sense it and trace it to here. We do not need to draw his attention any more than we have already. It would be most unwise to do so. Leave it be. He is already nearby. We do not want him closer. The silver stallion's voice held an unmistakeable edge, and a tone of command that brooked no arguement.
To Kotaro he said. Where may we put Wolfblade to keep him out of the way,as he offers to be-and as we need him? I still strongly suggest that he not be allowed to scry or search for Telemachus. The sorceror will be able to sense the magic almost certainly and we do not need him any closer to the castle than he already is. I am certain neither you nor your lord want that. What then, shall be done with Wolfblade, so that we may have our discussion? And have you any comments or additions to what I have said about good and evil and/or Telemachus?
Wolfblade,by the way-owing his magic-can sense when I speak to any of you or when you are answering but he cannot tell that we are speaking nor what is being said-only that something is going on.
The silver stallion snorted;shaking out his long mane and pawing the floor agitatedly. A few silver sparks lingered in the air wherever his hoof struck. With the urgency in my sending your lord and Storm should be arriving soon. They cannot fail to ignore this one. But if they do not come soon,I will go in search of them and drag them back-willingly or no. The matter of who shall accompany Elestirne and I must be decided before the meeting and the sooner the better. I have my own thoughts, and I am certain Elestirne does as well-perhaps-but I would rather here from the rest of you too. If I have to go seeking Storm and Tatsumura wind-walker Kotaro shadow-walker, keep an eye on my lady. I believe she may be more affected by this new contact and the change of plans than she is letting on.
"Kotaro?" Authion spoke up now. "Did you not send a messenger off to find your lord and the one you call Akaruri but whom we know as Storm shortly after Wolfblade came upon us? It is a wonder they have not yet responded." Especially considering honored Olore's sendings as well, he sent mentally.
