OK, I'd have opened this up on LBTL Council, but honestly nobody goes there. So I was thinking it'd be cool to have some sort of scheme for Land Between Time.
12 months? Seasons?
What year is it?
it's the 3rd age? When is the 4th?
What should we call the Months?
etc.

Well, this is a different world, right? Are there multiple suns? Multiple moons? 'Cause that's what normal calendars are based off of. If we wanna just stick to the basics, we just gotta rename months, days, and seasons, which would probably be a lot easier... We could also consider that, since conquerors tend to name things, the founder of Mittelmarch might have called seasons by the names they knew. This, however, wouldn't be as much fun. While we're at it, do we have holidays? Like a King's Day for Isen? Which leads my ADD mind back to the seasons. Should we name them after the founders/prominent members of Mittelmarch? As for it being the 3rd age, did we have a 1st and 2nd ages? From what I understand, ages come when something new happens, like the Elves passing from Middle Earth. So, maybe the fourth comes with a change in power or something?

Wow, I don't know how I forgot about that. But Nichtmar, just for your peace of mind, I have read the history.

We could always use either:
1) the months used by Tolkien in his books
2) the Celtic tree months. (i.e. - the Celtic tree month of Oak ended on July 7th and the Celtic tree month of Holly began on July 8th)

If we do make this fun we will need either a page or form so we can keep track of what our characters are doing. Like this all sounds fun but I would forget what day it is in a instant if it's by another name. But what I do like is the fact that Mittlemarch appears to be a melting pot of culture. There is so many people from all sorts of backgrounds and such different concepts of time that to list them all would probably give us our own calendar in itself! What I'd do is kind of democratic/our way or the high way. The Majority has always been in control of things. That is a undisputable fact of life. So if it's the followers of the King, The Dragoons of the Norther Steeps or even the Shougunate (sorry if i misspelled that) who make up a vast majority of our populace they may have more of a RP way to say how we measure time. Or I can just start backstabbing (literally) till we move over to Giggle Time!
