This was a great event. Thank you to everyone that made it possible.
I really enjoyed seeing a lot of the Amtgard, Dag, Bell, and other fighting games together at an event happy, and having fun. We as a community can all come together to make great large one day events like this last one if we all have open attitudes about cross gaming.
There were so many people shooting video of the action. Where are people posting them up? When they do, can we get links to the video and pictures.
Thanks again!

I just wanted to say thanks to yall. This was my first event out side of the few practices I have been to with my realm(outlanders). I have only been in this sport for a few months now after leaving SCA almost 10 years ago(only with them for about 1 yr). I had probably some of the most fun I have had in quite a few years. I will definitely be back to the next one if at all possible.

This event was awesome! I came from Corvalin with four other people, and we all had a blast. By the time I got home my throat was incredibly sore from healing as much as I did, and my body was sore from the fighting. So cannot wait for next year!

Had an awesome time yesterday, looking forward to another year of MM events. Many thanks to those who put their heads together to make an event like this possible, from troll to weapons check, heralds and even the merchants. Its a complete package in a day event. Thanks for the good times.
Side note: I am missing a club with a grayish cover and a "M" on the pommel. Last seen at weapons check.

What was with the guy in the baseball cap, sunglasses, Ninja Turtle pajama pants, sports jersey, and wrestling belt? I never want to see apparel like that EVER again on a Dag field.

just for the record, smurf has fought with us on many occasions, when it's a dag event he is a MMer. Talk to any cross gamer and frankly the answer is I am from wherever the local group that plays this game is. Yes Smurfs garb stretched the bounds of realism, but the reality is he was there to enjoy the event, and was doing so, so his garb was not realistic, does that mean that we should exclude people from the game who are not dressed as we do. Ask yourselves this had someone me up to you on the field and asked to join the game, would you tell them no because they were dressed in a t-shirt and jeans? I prefer people to make the attempt to look good, but i will not be offended if someone chooses to ignore the suggestions for garb in the rule book, so long as they are there to enjoy the game, and not causing injury to another player

Long story short: Amtgard, Dag, Bel, whatever, come as you are. We in MM love fighting, and we K.I.S.S.

And many thanks to everyone to helped out with the event.... from weapons check, to heralding, to even helping pack up my car - you guys are amazing, and I am so glad to be from such an awesome, supportive realm. When we host a successful event, it makes me really proud to be from Mittelmarch, it truly does.

Smurf has only been to a handful of Dagorhir events to answer your question,, including Ragnarok, Olympics, and now WAR...
No, I didn't appreciate his blatant disregard for realism concerning his garb, but bottom line is that he was there to have fun and enjoy the event like everyone else. I think as coordinators of the event next year, we need to be firm on what is allowed and what is not, but this year's WAR is over, an overwhelming majority of people had a great time, and that's all we can ask for.

Thanks for hosting, this was a great event...I'm not one for long hikes between fighting but I enjoyed myself none the less. As far as the issue with Smurf, I respect MM in their stand to keep the event running smoothly and safety, which they did However if someone is going to use "I'm a cross-gamer who doesn't know any better" (lets be honest this is what happened), then at least break our garb rules by wearing jeans like all the new people with a legit excuse. Blatantly disregarding garb in the way he did gets people heated not because it is ridiculous, but because it is an insult, and it reflects badly on MM. I am peeved because 1) He looked stupid, it was witty, it wasn't funny, it was stupid and 2) it sparked, and/or brought to the surface, negative labels against Indiana Dagorhir (one might even say Indiana foam fighting as a whole). I don't really give a crap, I'll swing a foam sword at whoever wants to swing one back. In the long run however, feeding the fires of negative labels, with actions such as his, hurts the game as a whole and that pisses me off. Normally I am not one to post such things (if I even post on forums at all) but after reading the national boards and seeing the issue her as well I figured I'd post my feelings on the host realm's boards; rather than run to the national boards where no one cares unless they can piss in someone else's cheerios and have someone pat them on the back for doing so. If I offended anyone, I'm sorry, I did not mean to do so. I merely wanted to voice my opinion, if your's is different I respect that. Again I had an awesome time at War and I applaud the people who ensured that the fighting stayed constant and the game safe.

Also I had a question can we set some sort of moratorium on the healing poems "I don't wanna die." x 36 and the counting one? It kinda irked me, someone tried using that to heal me and I refused to take the healing, because its not that hard to print off a poem now is it?
