What: Quite simply the coolest site for foam fighting ever. The grounds are huge, but I’ve sadly never used most of them as I’ve been two busy fighting on the
THREE STORY CASTLE
That’s right, a three story castle constructed mostly of railroad ties. Complete with multiple entrances, a rear tower with a bridge attaching it, and the three story tower that can make for truly epic fights when trying to take it. This is one of the coolest events you will ever go to.

sigh... Dischord... Glad my days of Amtgard are over... but, I will give the Amtgarders this, this IS one of the better places for foam fighting... the castle is pretty cool, there are multiple small outposts throughout the grounds... and the grounds themselves... giant... so yeah

Just to show you guys what you missed out on, here's almost 15 minutes of footage from one of the castle battles. In it each team had to take a location where a herald held a flag. Whoever held the location accrued time, and whoever had the most time at the end (20 minutes) won. We had about an hour worth of time within that 20 minute span
Look closely and you'll see myself, Nichtmar, Rune, and Oof. Those that know them might also recognize Smurf and Heydeez. I'll post some times on the videos with some cool moments:
1:02 = Clyde explains the rules to his team while holding the camera. You can see all of us among the group. I'm in the back left with a super cool orange and black camo hat on and chainmail. Rune, Nichtmar, Oof, and Smurf are all near the front. Rune is wearing brown brigandine with my spare black hat, shaped like my camo one. Nichtmar is in his new armor, Smurf is wearing studded leather, and Oof is wearing chainmail. Now you should be able to spot us in the action.
2:24 = I explain our strat to our team and start setting it up.
3:16 = Our team runs in single file into the castle, the line on the right is going into the bottom floor to take the courtyard while the rest of us go up the rear tower to take the ramparts and main tower. Notice the other team comes in through the front gate and takes the second floor and tower quickly. This doesn't last too long.
4:06 = The camera looks over the edge to where the bridge from the tower enters the castle. Our team is held up trying to get in until Oof yells for everyone to move forward and charges in himself. He dies in the process, but causes a dent for Nichtmar to push through and flank the room.
4:50 = the camera pans over to the courtyard. Thats all our team that has taken the bottom floor of the castle. They can't get any reinforcements to the second floor to stop us now.
At the beginning of this video I start organizing our team to defend the castle, sending fighters to different locations where they are needed as Nichtmar begins to ascend to the top to take the last remaining flag. There's a bit of confusion on who's fighting for who. We quickly figure it out and begin pushing to take the top. When we finish I capture the flag while organizing people to other locations of the castle to hold it.
1:50-2:05 = Some good shots of Oof and Rune watching the front door from the ramparts
2:50-3:11 = more shots of Oof, Rune, and a returned Nichtmar watching the gate.
5:22-5:31 = closeup shots of Oof and Rune at the front. Not much action in this video after we take the top as we were controlling the castle. Most of the fighting was outside. The enemy team continued trying to take our node nearest to our base but the proximity to our res point meant they could never really hold it.
Lots of fighting outside in this video with people you don't know
2:31 = Anavrin as a herald in the middle of the courtyard. He had a boring job as we took the position a minute and 40 seconds into the game and never lost it after that. Watch for another minute and you'll see Oof ordering around some people and Rune still standing above the gate.
