I was thinking at boy scouts(bad analogy i know) we have a quartermaster and a closet full of equipment. We all have our own, but sometimes we need certain things so we ask and we are allowed to borrow it. Why don't we have that here? Have some blues, reds, spears, javelins, and arrows. BUt instead of just getting what you want the person would have to pay a deposit and maybe a late fee?

1. we will never charge for something that not having will detract from the game 2. a lot of people have spare weapons that we do bring out to practice, and let people borrow 3. it would be great to have this but the question becomes who is going to carry it around, and what happens if they cannot make a practice 4. certain weapon types such as reds and bows should not really be readily available to people when they first start, and this type of system would allow that.
When I first joined it was recomended that everyone who comes out try to have at least two sets of gear, one that you can use, and one to loan out to new fighters, this being said it is best to get your own gear if you are going to be in this game for any length of time that way people will not see you as a drain on their own personal resources

I have to agree with Oof on all accounts here. There are too many things that could go wrong with something like this that outweigh the pros that would come from having the system.
On the specific case of arrows - Being an archer is more than just taking a bow out onto the field and shooting some arrows. Making your arrows is just as much a part of it. I consider myself a pretty good archer, and one of the better ones that we have here in Mittelmarch, and you won't see me on the field with my bow unless the arrows that I start the battle with are ones that I have made myself.
