Sorry if this is covered somewhere else, but I looked and couldn't find it. Are the following allowed?
'striking' as a Monk(using soft hand covers)
A whip(with a safety tip)

As far as I know, you can grapple but if someone hits your hands I believe you lose that arm. As for the whip....I really have never seen one but if they clear it at weapons check then I guess you’re good.

No, to both. Both of these are expressly forbidden actually. Sorry to tell ya.
As far as striking with your hands, you can't hit people. Period. Grappling only involves basic "wrestling".
And whips can trap or wrap around limbs, which can lead to injury fairly quickly.

what about styrofoam claw weapons, like the ones in the link. the gauntlets cover the fists and there is also sheilding around the arms, would that be acceptable? Attachments:

As always, and forever will be, no.
As a general rule, if it isn't essentially a stick covered in foam that you grip with your hands, it will not be allowed. No "strikes" (punches, etc.), no claws, no nets or whips.
Sorry, but they are just too dangerous. EVEN if claws WERE suddenly allowed, there would hell raised as to whether or not they did "blue" or "green" damage. And that's an argument not worth even raising.

To my knowledge there are only two odd weapons aloud in dagorhir.
Those are:
Flails Quarterstaffs
Everything else is pretty typical of the period.

Pretty much, and even then those both have fairly strict rules for safety

Actually yes, a lot of people make rocks into whatever they want. You could make a cover and rock (rock is pure open cell foam in dag) the shape of a nuke and put a nuclear symbol on the cover and throw it at peoples faces.

It doesn't have to be open cell. A lot of your odd-ball shapes have it for paddings sake, but you can use entirely closed cell; as long as it passes hit test and rock rules.

thats true, even though you can't had a hard core for a rock i have seen rocks made with a close cell core with some nice open cell over the top to keep it from hitting to hard.
