the best way I've heard to do this is to get an old T-shirt, and use duct tape on the shirt to make a styling you like, probably something simple if you're starting out. Then cut out the part of the Tshirt without duct tape, and voila! A pattern for your armor that will fit just right

Also cardboard and Tape is a good method.

Zeb! I've got some people up here from Nobletucky. Maybe you can finally get a group going this summer.

I'm looking into acquiring some cheap but quality armor. Something that looks like this but black? If anyone can make this give me an estimated price and what measurements you would need. via Personal Message. -Thanks

please. for the same piece of leather cut out 6 times, then 4 more times in smaller pieces. include the back piece as a solid piece, and even with rivets and shoulder pieces you could do that for the cost of one hide and rivets and whatever other tools you'd need. like 150, maybe 160 tops.
(not saying i'm gonna make it, just saying they are overcharging)

I can understand some charge for the workmanship that may(probably not) go into the armor. but ya it definitly wouldn't be hard to make at all.
But I do really like the gray sweatshirt under it!

i can understand and respect that.
but i'd like to point out the most expensive chainmail suit + coif i've found on the internet is only somewhere between 4 and 500 dollars. for a full shirt with a coif, not including any kind of chain leggings or such. and thats for steel. aluminum or brass is cheaper and lighter
not also to mention if i just made it myself. I don't mean to put you down, but 760 is on the high side for anyone
