Could you make me a scythe? Like a full scythe not a hand scythe. How much would you run me on that? I would like the blade to be copper and the rest to be made of oak. Sharp Edge 30 inches. Handle roughly 4 to 5 feet. About 2 to 3 inches in diameter. Close Enough Specs?

Delmontey: I can show you a design for a true forge and bellows that will cost you less than 100 dollars, probably closer to 50. I've been looking into this a lot lately. If you have a lot of pre-1982 pennies you can get copper pretty easy lol. Copper is easy to work because most of the work can be done cold without grinders. You can melt it into bars over a regular fire without bellows or anything. Otherwise, try going to the scrapyard on a saturday morning. Offer people 5 or 10 cents more per pound than what the scrapyard is offering and you can get sheet copper REAL cheap. I've been doing electrical work for a while, and sheet copper is going up in price way slower than copper wire. And Herzag, if you consider just a hardwood in general, then you could purchase a 5' jo staff off a martial arts supply website pretty easy. Just don't expect to cut anything with a copper blade without bending it.
