alright now i have another question about swords. if i were to make a bastard sword (hand a half sword) and if i were to put two hands on it would it count as a red or a blue still?

If it's above 48" then it must weigh over 24 oz and it would pass as a red. If it is under 48" then it must be at least 12 oz and would pass as a blue no matter what.
A red swung with one hand deals blue damage, but be warned, they are unwieldy that way and you won't have much control over it. Necessary when you get armed with a red, but few can do it (some can, but a very few) well enough to use them in one hand from the begining.

Don't short yourself on handle length. For any thing I have any intention of putting two hands on, I've found that AT MINIMUM I want 12-14 inches of grip. This allows you to spread your hands, giving you greater control and better leverage.

I tend to go with 11 or greater myself with the grip getting bigger as the sword does. Manslayer II for instance has around 30 inches of grip.
My first sword was I blieve something like your describing Storm (a 50" or so red with a smaller hand and a half handle) and it didn't let me get as much power or manuverability as I would have liked in two hands.
For what you seem to want if I could make a suggestion. Build a small red sword, a meduim shield with good shoulder starps and arm straps or a punch grip, and a smaller blue sword. That way you can wield the red if you wish or drop it and take out the sword and shield as necessary. That side arm is nice as well when a shieldman crowds you if you have a longer weapon, be it blue or red.
