I know I wasn't there, but I've been hearing that our Javys hit to hard, and we know they are too heavy. Now someone almost had their eye gouged out. I'm taking all Javelins off the field, until they are reconstructed under supervision at a weapons building session. They will meet every Dagorhir restriction, we've been too lax in our weapons checking as of late and that is going to change. And just because Myself or Zaron aren't there at a practice doesn't meen safety goes out the window. I'm not just talking Tuesday and Saturday practices, ALL practices Javelins are not to be used, Friday or whenever.
Thanks, and see ya Tuesday

Hehe, well, fine and dandy than. No problem, umm, atreus little mark was my fault i guess, he ran into a haft, and gave him one of those pretty little not cut but red marks by his nose. SHouldnt lead people so far next time, specially when they slow down. Either way, both of our javis are bad anyways, one ways wayyyyyyyyyy to much, and the other, umm, idk, havent figured it out yet, but probably weighs to much too. Sooo, i'll have to get with you and get my javi finished, and fix those others as well, and i just wanted to post something. Have a good weekend not coming to practice? Grr,
Later,
Rune

Sheesh, how do you guys get heavy Javelins? too much foam? making them out of something other than PVC? you'd think weight maximums would be easier to deal with than weight minimums.

He's talking about the Javies we've always had Sho'vak. Although they are only like 1 to 2 oz. depending on the one over weight.

There was one made by one of the new guys that wasn't constructed safely. Those others need rebuilt anyway. Javys are allowed, but if we don't know the ability of the maker then we need to question how they built it, to see if it's safe. Missile weapons are the most dangerous and I just want people to be safe, if your weapon is broke and you know it don't bring it on the field. I think I'm gonna start doing weapons check every practice. I'm not trying to be a d!ck, but I'm not having any hospital visits during a practice.

4.5.2. Javelins 4.5.2.1. The maximum weight of a javelin is 1.5 pounds. 4.5.2.2. The maximum length of a javelin is 7 feet. 4.5.2.3. The minimum length of a javelin is 4 feet. 4.5.2.4. All javelins must pass standards for both yellow and green classifications, no yellow-only javelins. 4.5.2.5. All javelins must have a yellow cover on the head (not on the pommel). No non-missile weapons may have a yellow cover. 4.5.2.6. Javelins are exempt from weapon flex rule 4.1.8.4. and instead must not flex more than 90 degrees. 4.5.2.7. Any block that stops the head of the javelin from striking its target is a legal block. 4.5.2.8. Javelins must be padded along their entire length. max of 1.5 pounds is pretty light. kinda hard to do with all that foam with long javilins, however if you cut down the size and use thinner pvc, you can make nice ones that meet the requirments. at the moment im workin on a 6ft spear
