Hmm... ok, I'll try halving the stabbing foam as suggested above. I'm also trying to think of good names for the darn weapons now.

Folks, I started this thing last fall, glued my hands together in the process, and by the might of all the warring gods on this plane, I will give this spear a name to be remembered!

I dig it! I love the green rings.
Is the white stuff grip tape? What's the tip made of? What core did you use?

The white is athletic tape.
the tip is made of a seat cushion that I butchered seeing as it was decent opencell. the pvc is 3/4" I think. It's heavy and larger than what most people would use but I need the larger grip.

What's the overall length? Does it pass the flex rule?

They've changed spears, like javalins, to 90 now, I believe

I heard they were going to, but the change hasn't been reflected on the rules page. Not that the rules page is very up-to-date, anyway. Alric

Frost is correct. Spears can flex 90 degrees.
And very nice job. I like the looks of the spear. How long is it? We don't have alot of long spear users in MM, but at national events 8' spears are quite common.

7'7" I'll eventually make another spear, possibly shorter that I will be pairing with a short sword. I like the combo.

I am now charged with making a birthday set of maces for Kazzel. I think my other projects will be put on hold. Oh and this came up a few posts ago... how big of a rock CAN I make? If I had enough to make a boulder roughly 20" in diameter, could I do it legally?

it can be any size as long as there is no core and does not weigh over a half a pound. and of course is soft enough.

Hokay! I have a 4' pvc core and I don't know what to make. I already have the two handed sword and its the grey pvc, which is too heavy to make a javenin with. I'm curios if I can make a pike. Perhaps get a joint piece to make a shield pulling weapon? What are the rules on that kind of thing? And if that doesn't work... then I guess I have a pole without a purpose.

It cann't be able to trap a limb. If it can then it will fail on that. Joints in weapons are also terrible idea's as the stress we put on them is too much for a pvc joint.

I finally got around to repairing my spear aswell as making a short sword to accompany it! I've also found some good leads for names for the duo: Hyssop and Nettle (spear and sword respectively) I belive that in celtic mythology Hyssop was used to purge evil while nettle would have been used to call upon the goddess Áine for protection. At least that is what I found on this webite: " www.shee-eire.com/Herbs,Trees&Fungi/Herbs/Main.htm " and until I find something more interesting, I'll stick with what I have.

Ok, I'm building again. Expect some new stuff to be made and old stuff to be lost.
