I will be moving up here permanently in june/july and I was wanting to know for right now and in the upcoming winter what do you all do for winter garb? Do you have a heavy type cloth that keeps you warm or do you just layer up until its warm or 'good' enough?
I'm from South Carolina; the coldest we get is in the 20's and thats probably a week tops out of the year. We never really had a need for real winter garb, layers have done just fine.
Thanks! ;D

Well, layers is what I do, but armor usually keeps others warm.

Armor, layers, its all good, I usually just wear a long sleeved shirt, and ahat, the moving around fightign keeps me from being to cold. Oh, and the extra layer of leather on me helps too. lol, I look forward to meetin you Lyte,

Sounds like what I planned since I can't sew. If you all have a practice or battle before the 30th I would probably show up; even if it was snowing/raining/cold as hell.

In the cold, i usually layer 2 shirts, my tunic and armour. Plus most of us happen to hace our own insulation from the cold, built in. ;D

Underarmor makes some great thermal gear that can go on under your garb too. I can usually wear that and than my normal fall garb and be just fine.

The secret is staying dry. A good pair of thermals what will wick away persperation. You will perspire while fighting, and any wetness will draw off heat quite rapidly. The next layer should insulate. Natural fibers are best, like wool or cotton. The next layer is protective. Not from blows but from moisture getting in. Gortext is best, but it's not period... a thick felt like a heavy sweatshirt and pants would be the cheap and easy solution, but silk would be better... a pain to clean... but better since it doesn't absorb much and cuts the wind while it still breaths letting moisture out. A nice silk tunic over armor, wool and cotton would keep you quite warm, and look way cool.
