I need a cheap (and legal) way to put a counter weight in my pommels. I've already put them together but I can rip em up if I have to.

for PVC. Gorilla glue and long zinc bolts is what i use. Zaron uses lengths of square stock steel in his handles. Rune and gravein have layered the handle in pennies.
all of them work and are legal. (The bolts work the best though, they also double as a cap for the end of the pvc.)

Zinc bolts? Where do you get them? What size do you use for 1/2" and 3/4" PVC? What lengths do you prefer?

Any bolt will do, why spend the extra on Zinc. But I'm recommending a can of "great stuff" foam. I'm useing it to fill gaps between the frist layer of foam and the PVC. You can trim it flush the next day with a razor knief. But it would also work to fill in the pommel end of the PVC and then stick the bolt in. the Next day it will be 'frozen' in Foam. Also I'm going to experiment with filling the PVC with the foam as a stiffener/strengthener. It's very light stuff, but I think that "Foam Core" PVC would might have a little extra strength and guard against breakage and/or help with flex.

I just tied copper bb's in dime paper rolls. Unfortunately the roll made it a little too big and I can't find the recipt for the bbs so I'm stuck with 6000 copper bbs and nothing to do with them.

Where did you buy them? Have you tried taking them back without a receipt?
If you're stuck with them, a suggestion I've heard on the national boards is this: mix BBs and epoxy, then fill the bottom few inches of your pommel.
I know nothing about epoxy, so maybe Zaron could explain this a little better.

Expoxy is just a name of a rewsin glue that you mix with an activator before using. Definatly mix the BB's in something such as that however. A dime paper roll proably wouldn't hold up super well anyway and then you'd have loose bb's in your core.

The gorilla glue is used to not worry about different sized PVC tubing alric, i'm surprised you didnt catch that. I prefer the longest sizes myself, adds more weight. But for shorter or lighter weapons the smaller bolts will do.
The only problem is if yoru weapons are made from two peices of quarter inch pvc, like orons usually are. The bolts are just a smidge to big for that kind.

When I asked about sizes, I was asking what size bolt. Like 3/8" or 7/16" or whatever.

Ahh. I dont follow the sizes. I generally find one about handle length. if not larger, so it wont snap right off in the handle

It's usually on the bolt. The next time you go shopping, have a look and let me know?

I'm using a 5/8" bolt and washers to counterweight my red sword. It looks like I'll need to cover the handle with pennies though cause it just isn't enough.

3/4" hole through the pvc if that's what you're talking about.

Yes, I've wrapped the bolt and washers with... pennies!
