Credit for the idea goes to my roommate, Mike Reynolds.
I bought six 5/16" oak dowel rods (36" long) and cut them into 12" pieces. Then an eight-foot 2" x 3" general purpose stud. Cut the stud in half, cut notches to stack them into an X, then drilled holes at the center, and at 6" intervals outward.
