Hi, all. I am looking for some open and closed cell foam to purchase for a few things I am building, and I live/work in the Indy area. Can anyone suggest some places I can find this stuff by the sheet? So far it has been a real bear... Thanks in advance.

For closed cell, we use the blue Ozark Trail camping pads from Wal-Mart. $5.88 for a roll. For regular-density open cell, the green stuff from JoAnn Fabrics is great. I'm not sure where Mittelmarch has been getting HDOC (High Density Open Cell) lately, but I'm sure someone will enlighten us both.

This is exactly what I was looking for, so thank you very much. The "green stuff" you are talking about; where in JoAnn Fabrics would I find this?

It probably varies store to store, just have to ask when you get there

I found that goodwill might sometimes be selling furniture cushions. I bought one for $1.05 and got a 2.5' x 2.5' x 4" block out of it. Of course, that was luck.

My dad gave me a sponge used for washing cars that's squishy without being overly firm. I think you can get them at department stores and places like Auto Zone. 'Course, I'm not even sure it's legal.
