Should there be 3 layers of blue for a cap?

there are 3 styles that i use
the first one is the standard wrap cap wrap cap method with a tiered approach for pommel fighting.
on my fiberglass ones i put rope around the entire rod that doesnt have foam on it all the way to the bottom. then i take a strip just slightly wider then the width of the handle and a lil bit more the twice the width of my knuckles and dap it down. then i dap one down running perpendicular over it slightly shorter for the tier once again
the last method is i use a wrap and a cap. then i take about a 4.5 inch square of either blue foam or unifoam thats about 1 inch thick and i tape it down over the top. the last two are really easy and my favorites
