What are the rules for a weapon with, say, a hook or scyth like blade? Is it possible or should I forget it? Also I was checking some old posts and saw something about adhesive leather strips that might be usable for grips.
Info please?

If your looking to make a sword likea khopesh that just bends then you can make it easily by bending the pvc, just be sure to make it stabby as the end of the sword is usually what ends up hitting your opponent. If your looking to make a scythe or kama type weapon I'd just forget it, by the time you get it padded enough to pass it ends up looking terrible and it is not an effective weapon at all (prone to breaking every battle for almost no benefit at all).

You are looking for Wilson leather wraps. You can find them at Dicks Sporting Goods, if you're willing to look around for a while. It's been so long since I've been there that I can't remember where they are exactly.
P.S. Dicks is terrible, Galyans was better.

You can find them either as baseball bat grips with the baseball equipment or as tennis racket grips with the tennis equipment. I perfer the tennis ones now as there is more variety and they are sold year round.

'kay. I agree with Taos that Galyan's was better (and sounded more sophisticated too) and I'll forget about the scyth idea AND I'll be searching for baseball/tennis grips in the aformentioned places. This still leaves me with a 4' core that I don't nessesarily need...

Short swords can be your best friend if you're using that spear and someone closes on you.
