I am Thorvald. I was speaking with Nickmar yesterday and he wanted me to post this information to your board.

What: First Annual Lord of War Festival
When: 9-3-2009 through 9-7-2009
Where: St. Louis area (location to be determined)
Goal: To provide a common framework for Amtgard, Belegarth, and
Dagorhir fighters to enjoy a weekend of intense fighting.
I don't want you to think of this as going to a normal event. I want
you to think of this as a vacation from the stress of your everyday
job, the politics of Amtgard, and a chance to really immerse yourself
in having a good time while meeting new people.
Pre-emptive answers:
Q. Why St. Louis?
A. It is fairly central to both Bel and Amtgard. There are two strong
groups in the area, and more within driving distance. Furthermore,
it's right near an easily accessible airport.
Q. What will the combat rules be?
A. The specifics are to be determined. A general outline will be
battlegames using militia rules, and ditch-style fighting using
normal rules. We will incorporate shield bashing and close contact.
We will probably allow weapon grappling, but not person grappling.
More specifics as things firm up.
Q. Will my gear be legal?
A. If it meets Amt or Bel/Dag standards, then yes. We will not be
using a weight requirement on weapons, but will be requiring a
sufficient force rule. Think how hard you thump monkeys at Spring
War, and you've got a good calibration.
