(I've been giving my persona a pretty good thinking through during my downtime here in Ohio, and I've changed a few(read: a lot) of things integral to my persona. I just felt I needed something more definent. Something that I could actually work off of and personify on the field, if possible. Either way, read on to find out what changes have been wrought.)
Introduction
Full Name: Firoth Nurgrin
Race/Tribe: Sidhe Dae of the Aether Mists
Parents: Nalis of the Sidhe Lho (mother), Bron of the Sidhe Dae (father)
Affiliations: Order of the Blood Winds (Gale Knight), Legion of the Dragoons (Black Legion)
Home Plane: Khull
(Just so everyone knows, the word Sidhe is pronounced Shee, so Firoth's race would be said Shee-Day, and his mother's would be said Shee-Low)
Brief Explanation
Race: Firoth is a Sidhe of the Dae tribe, said Sidhe Dae for simplicity. Each of the seven Sidhe tribes have different customs and specialties unique to their region and ancestors. I will be only covering two of the seven here: Dae and Lho, but first the race in general.
The Sidhe are one of the many sentient races of Khull. Few in number, the fey are considered the protectors of their world. Their features hint at the bestial ancestors of their kind; pointed ears, slightly feral features, thick sometimes pointed nails, narrow pupils, and an instinctive nature they have learned to control.
Sidhe are naturally arcane in nature, their very essence originally derived from a mortal soul and a magical body. These ties to eldritch power were greater than that of the other races of Khull by far, and for that they were feared, but held in the highest as well. Legends speak of great cities and wonderous monuments created of solidified energies, but only the Sidhe remember these things in full.
Their memories are given to the next generation in a coming-of-age ritual that lasts for days. During the ritual, both the parent and child rest in a meditative state, sitting in a viewing chamber motionless while the rest of the community aids in the procedings. It's a rigorous trial for the young fey, but if they survive the ritual with their minds intact, they are given their clan title and from then on are considered men and women of the community.
The Sidhe have been called the protectors of Khull for the last millenia, ever since it seemed their race no longer held the 'spark' for magic that even the lowest sentient race had. This change came about during The Fading, an era that even the oldest living Sidhe still have trouble recalling. Simply, it was a time where Khull itself began to unwind, the weave of energies that held it together fraying and slowly destroying the outer forests near the edges of Khull.
The process was slow, but obvious, as each day the skies grew darker and the borders of the plane grew nearer and nearer inland. In a desperate attempt to stop the destruction, the Eighth Tribe sacrificed themselves to the plane, using their innate energies to try and repair or reverse the damages done. While costly, the outflow of energy did stop the withering of Khull, but only for a few hundred years.
Since then the Sidhe have adopted a ritual known as Pact Bonding. Just after birth, a Sidhe child is bound to the energies of the plane, giving up their ability to ever use or be effected by magic of any sort. The process also leaves an obvious mark upon the newborn, the hand and forearm of the left arm losing it's color, becoming a deep black that leaves streaks up the arm.
Although a Bound Sidhe gives up the abilities that their ancestors are famous for, it also serves to protect them from the magic-warped weather of Khull, where storms of arcane lightning and torrents of fire are very possible. In exchange for giving up their magical prowess they keep the world form collapsing....but their effort, while effective for now, may not last forever.
The Unbound are rarely heard of anymore and are usually considered dangerous by the rest of the race, due to the almost limitless power that they possess and the lack of control and focus to keep their ancestral instincts from taking them over.
Dae: The Dae clan lives in the Aether Mists of the West, an area of thick forests and wetlands surrounded in a magically frigid mist that harbors out unwanted guests. The Sidhe themselves don't feel the cold that kills so many others, nor is their vision hampered by the mists, both because of the Pact Bond. They are known for a strange fighting technique unique to the Dae clan and only taught to it's members.
