The Jovian Empire insisted on bringing in Caravans of Goods to Mittelmarch and back to Jove. But time and time again didnt look good for them. Lord Denendir was always on the prowl, never knowing when another opportunity would jump up for him to strike back at them.
Caravans came and went, and not a day went by when another one would be ransacked of its goods. All of the prisoners would be freed and escorted to the Kyoden, And all of those wishing to renounce themselves from Jovian Control would come to understand the wrongings of there ways.
Not all of Kanthea felt this way though. It was a divided land, some were of there own gain, some didnt care, And then there was Lord Denendir and the UTC. They fought for the refugees and helped the Kyoden by sending various amounts of food and supplies to it, knowing that every bit helped with the new people that arrived daily.
Things were getting a little better and they were turning in our favor for this time.

With the fight that took back Mittelmarch, Denendir knew that this fight had ended but the war was still going on. People talked in the street of Kanthea's Capital. They kept say things of Jovian Attacks on innocent civilians and of how their next plan was to assasinate someone.
Lord Denendir knew a bit of this was true but honestly didnt want to find out if assassinations were their next move or not. However his walls and his troops would be on the alert to anything that wasnt part of Kanthea and going through his homeland.
Caravan travel has become somewhat normal again. Life at rebuilding the walls of Mittelmarch are coming along nicely. Standing in the ever watching PerchTower, Denendir could always keep an eye on not only The Brazen Bull but also could see the walls of Mittelmarch from a distance.
Lord Denendir sat in his meditation chamber, half expecting to hear something on the wind. But as time went by his muscles untightened. He relaxed. And then it came, like the smell of fire on the wind, Denendir heard someone in his mind. Someone was trying to speak to him
"Denendir................."
"Be prepared for the worst........"
"Orcish Marauders and Trolls are angered by your cities.....They are on the move, gathering more and more, coming from the mountains north of you.........."
"Save your people, send out your calling for help......"
"Fly your war colors...."
"Arm your men to the best they can be...."
"The time for the Days of Shadow are growing near......"
"The shadow will either consume or fade....that is for you to decide....."
With this Denendir sat up from his Meditation mat, stood up and walked over to a nearby desk. He took out parchment and started to write out messages to places like Dunland, Mittelmarch, The Kyoden, Northern Steppes, and even to Artanor. He knew that the time had come upon them. He knew what to do.
And so the messengers took the messages and did their business whereas Lord Denendir ordered for all soldiers get armed and in the courtyard and for a complete lockdown of the city.
Training would commence.

As the days grew nearer the forces of Mittelmarch had took heed to Denendir's calling.
The stranded, all clad in armor, ready for the blood to be spilt were primed for combat.
The Shogunate, ever stealthy and deadly were on the move as quick as could. Samurai and ninja alike came to this calling.
Dragonspire sent forth a few warriors ready to go to battle.
With all these men ready for combat, the war colors were shown to fly high overlooking the great valley and plains for which Denendir had come to love.
Moments after this however, Maruaders had found what they searched for and had become angered by all of this, their forces were Thousands strong where as Denendirs were a mere thousand or so strong. Denendir knew this was going to be a long battle. In order to keep those alive that fought for him, Denendir knew he must defend them at all costs. Denendir looked to the sky and called forth giant avians to fly archers to a safe distance. Enraged as Lord Denendir was he also called forth great fire to fall from the sky, the sky heeded his plea and his incantations of nature. Great Fireballs fell from the sky and continued. The Marauders thinking without strategy charged the hills and onward towards the town, burning and pillaging whatever was left after mopping up the villagers.
Lord Denendir fought with all these warriors at his side, as he fought his feelings gave way as a Lich made its way through town, Denendir knew this was the leader that he was the defiler that rounded these creatures.
Denendir shielded himself for what he thought was going to work against death magic, The lich reached out and touched these shielding spells, then vanished and dispelled without effort, Denendir jumped back, drew his blades, and lunged at this foul creature not knowing the outcome. The lich took two hits to his body and looked down then back up. He merely smirked and laughed. He grabbed both blades of these swords and Denendir watched as they turned to nothing but a rust pile.
Denendir then felt pain as the Lich scratched his right arm in a fast stroke. Denendir was weakening, he knew this wasnt going to be a win for him. He cast an echo spell and yelled "Retreat back to Mittelmarch to the south, this battle is lost for now, Retreat I say, Retreat".
With Denendir's last breathe and magic before passing out, He called the giant avians to carry all those alive and of help to be taken to the safety of Mittelmarch, as for himself he ended up being taken to the kyoden.
What seemed to be hours was a few days travel to him. When he awoke a follower of his was riding with him. He mentioned to his Lordship that it was actually all planned by the Lich, who indeed worked for Aris Steelhand. Denendir overwhelmed as he might have been told him everything would be taken care of, and with that Denendir fell asleep knowing the kyoden would be safe and here soon.
((Kanthea is now of Evil Alignment....))

"Ah. Another place that will know peace through my will!" "My lord, you claimed to be able to raise our fallen orcs from death. I disbelieve this so why don't you prove this?" the head orc asked the lich. "Why of course!" Giggles said as the pile of dead orcs was brought to him. Using his Dark Arts he rose the orcs to the level of the Fallen. "What trickery is this! They are still dead and now are abomontions! This was not the deal you made with opur master!" "Your master lied to you! I can't believe you thought I had the power to restore life! I know one of those was your brother so ask him what he thinks of his new powers!" The orc aproached his brother and asked what he thought. "Now for the others." Giggles began to gather the dead and the prisoners. He rose enough of the dead to keep Kanethea in subjugation. He decided his new fallen would guard this city for the one who employed him. Now for his other payment. "Arsehead!" Giggles called The minion rose from the earth and asked what his master desired. "Take half of the living prisoners to Ravenwood and hide them! I want them fresh so break them into small groups heading above the earth. I want them all alive so gather enough food and fresh water." Arsehead bowed and summoned enough undead to do his masters biding. Giggles saw a young boy in a corner of rocks hidden from others. Hmmm a nice fresh meal... He thought. Just then a tear fell across his right eye and he let the boy go. What is wrong with me...I must return to Ravenwood! He left his newly risen Fallen to run things in Kanthea.

The new found home of the Kyoden bode Denendir well as he took on a new life as Masahiro Hitoshi. But something seemed amiss. This land was still foreign to him. Things grew weary to him as he felt a need to return and reclaim the land lost to the evil.
Denendir sat down and planned to return to his homeland to take back what they lost. The only way to do this though was with the help of all those whom had escaped from this massacre and pledged to take it back when the time was right.
The winters ahead would prove a difficult time to reclaim anything, for movement would be halted in any way possible.
Denendir thought it best to strategize what they would do, for the upcoming spring when there would be an assault of what remained of Kanthea. .............

From all the images Masahiro had seen throughout the land, none compared to the savagery of what was once Kanthea. It had been tilled and farmed and dead and decay were everywhere. Carrion seekers flew in the air, the forests had all but become ravaged and rugged.
Masahiro knew he must adapt to this environment to stay alive. He knew there was still a bit of hope left.
It was only a matter of time....

Leaning on a tree, Masahiro could see his old city in the valley and plains below. Something was awry about it. There was a giant man standing in the plains looking at this once mighty city. He was clad in black armour emblazoned with red as its border. He had a Red Dragon on the back of his black cape. His helmet had blood red feather pluffs hanging off of it.
Masahiro crept closer to get a better look at him.

Bha'allack could only remember when he was a child and visited his mother here in Toiapi City. Things were always peaceful and playful when he was here. He remembered long ago that there had been a great war waged for 10 long years and it killed many people he had grown dear to. It even took his mothers life. He wondered what had happened to this once peaceful city as he traveled back from Mittelmarch.
Bha'allack knew that there was something awry about it, so he headed towards this once great city in hopes of finding answers to his "awry feeling".

Seeing that the black armour-clad man was walking towards Masahiro's home, he decided to follow him and find out exactly what this guy was up to. Defiling such a place would call for a fight. Things could get a little messy for this intruder if he tries to destroy anything or fight Masahiro.
The man walked closer and closer, Masahiro only about 20 yards away creeping low to the ground where the tall reeds were growing all around. Taking step for step as he followed this man into his old home, poised to strike at this bewildered foe.
Weapon out and ready to strike, he continues to move closer to his homeland which now lay in rubble.

Walker deeper into the heart of Toiapi City, he could see the rubble all around laying in piles where buildings use to be. Torn fragments of flags and clothing lay underfoot. Bones of various sizes lay in ruins. Judging all that had happened, he chuckles a little bit before looking all around him. He sensed something was watching him but couldnt discern where it was coming from.
He kept this in mind as kept searching for signs. Walking closer and closer to where the castle stood, he noticed that for the most part it had been mostly untouched, only about a third of it was missing due to whatever calamity fell upon this ancient city of his.
Closer and closer he walked, poised for whatever lay ahead of him. He walked until he arrived at the main doors which would have been there if they werent torn off the hinges. Upon entering lay remnants of the royal carpet and color, tapestries that were once hanging and flying, even the royal chair had been chucked aside from this once lively city.
He went over and picked the mighty black marble throne that sat to one side with one hand and set it back on the majestic pedestal it was suppose to be on, he then looked around and then back at the throne before sitting down in it slightly.

"You know ole friend, this used to be a more lively city. I thought I would never see you coming back to this place!", Said Masahiro as he crept out of the shadows.
It had been a long time since Masahiro had seen Bha'allack. He left the service of Masahiro after Kanthea fell and it seems that both of them were turning for the better.
"So, now that I have you here and now within the once great halls of Kanthea capital, Tioiapi City. What can I help you with, or more or less, what can you help me with old friend?", Said Masahiro.

Knowing that Kanthea itself was needing to grow more. Masahiro laid a hand on what seemed to be a fur covered staff, he slowly reached it and touched it to the ground. Growth started to take on everywhere.
"It is time that we all get back to the way things are", Masahiro said.
Kneeling on a slight hill he beckoned to the rest of the still living members of the royal houses that hid from enemies, they quickly ran closer to the ole city. The city seemed to grow by the minute until tree houses seemed to form to allow living for a short time.
"This will have to do for now, my fellow citizens. But we will have more in a few days time.", Masahiro said.
--------------------------------------------------
A few days had passed and Masahiro had gone as far as he could to round people from the very corners of kanthea to start rebuilding the mighty city as it once was. There were buildings now and also chambers for every citizen. When the buildings were finished Masahiro came before his very people and held out his hands.
"My people, today is a new day in a new age. We, the people of Kanthea shall from this day forward excel in what our forefathers thought we would not be able to accomplish. Out with the old and in with the new. Where there is dead soil and ash we shall turn it into glistening pure rich nutriented soil with aqueducts leading the change."
