Well today i was working on my armor for rag and my little brother came in to my room and asked me if i could put spikes on my shield that would count as green.
I then told him that it is a rule no spiked shields and them it hit me.
It was cheese, Broken, And more than likely everyone will hate me for posting it.
I thought up making a hand spear. like about a foot and a have feet long. Than taking a shield and putting a whole through it and putting the spear through it. this shield would be considered a vary large hand Gard.
It would be considered a green weapon. Your hand Gard would be a unbreakable shield. But if a arrow hit it at all you would die.
Now speak i would like to hear how it would fail. How is a stupid. And how stupid i am for putting this on the boards.
PS i not making one.

If one would attempt such a thing, put a blade on the sword as well would make it more "convincing" as a legit weapon.

Hand gaurds are fine if you make it too terribly large though don't be surprised if a weapons checker fails it though. I've seen weapons failed for less. I remember reading something about handguard sizes on the national boards. I'll take a look and see if I can find it again.

Direct from the national boards from long ago.
posted April 25, 2002 12:06 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Handguards are part of the weapon, so they fall under the same rules as all weapons. Which means that hand guards CANNOT block arrows. If you intentionally block an arrow with your handguard or any other part of your weapon, you are dead. If it is inadvertently blocked, then you have to take the arrow shot as if the weapon wasn't there. Most people who build some kind of handguard, quillion or basket hilt do so with foam covered by tape or cloth. As to size, I'd build it large enough to protect your hand(s) without making the weapon hard to use. Remember that Weapon's checkers have the discretion to determine what a weapon is, so if your handguard morphs into some kind of weapon/shield combo the weapon's checkers can fail it.

I hope to see you at Ragnarok XXI!
