I like the LBL's King Battle thing. The tough part (he says mildly) will be getting the other Realms to go for the idea. If that were even possible I'd lead to some interesting RP.
As is, I think that Oof's idea of some sort of internal struggle for power (but within MM itself) would be the more practical, with a side story of a group or two scouting the surrounding lands and reconnecting with whatever small towns/villages are around.
If we can get other Realms, beyond Dunland involved in the RP I could see all the LBTL Realm's fighting for control of the known Lands Between. I could also see it ending up rather badly.....having said that *shrug.
I got nothing more idea-wise ATM, time to go to class.

Zigler chuckles at the mixed reactions to Elestirne 's desire to leave quickly. But in truth the whole journey had been a tiring affair for the dwarf. Despite the chances it gave him to exercise his new-found abilities, he really did not care for the endeavor, nor its outcome. Though part demon himself now, it was Telamon and Cathan who had given him the chance to be gifted with those abilities. Had it not been for Aki and the torturing of an innocent the dwarf may well have been beside Telamon in the demented elf's final moments.
"Well, if'n we be going, we be goin'. Aki, pack up yer stuff laddie, I'll hold yer reins while ye nap on the trip back. And if'n ye all don't mind, "he addresses the group at large" I'll be gettin' back to mah Inn once yer all back at the Kyuden."
With that Zigler helps Storm pack his gear, then mounts his own horse and begins riding towards the Kyuden.

@dorian, yeah man. That was my fault. Some serious shit went down and I had to focus on other things around the time both you and Carneth were wanting to become my 'evil minions' I still think that if I coulda had both the time and a lil luck the massacre of the remaining Jovians in the arena woulda been sweet. But, as I said I had to take care of some serious shit.
A gotta agree on the movers and shakers things. To me it seems like we let only one or two people really move the story along, usually those most invested in it, or those who are most interested....Dorian if you wanna kick start something in the Cedric's Inn thread I'm game. Now that the elven witch is rescued I'll be gettin back to MM.

I like the idea of exploring the 'Lands Beyond' No telling whats there, plenty of opportunities, and whose to say that that and the final fate of the Azoth Gate cannot be entwined.

Zigler looked on after Aki, making sure he made it to the lady elf alright before yelling up a Tsukasa, "Laddie, yea kin come down now!"
The other man merely looked down angrily at the dwarf as with a grunt of effort he extracted himself from between the two branches and fell, landing slightly bent on his feet. Once upright Zigler slapped him on the back and motioned him to join the others as they gathered around Elestirne. Zigler slowly followed the other man as the recent death of the possessed elf Telamon had rattled the dwarf to his very core. When the demon had been slain Zigler was almost sure he saw....something. An obscure yet familiar room. But being unable to place his hand or mind upon it he quickly dismissed it and rejoined the group. Aki was seeing to Elestirne's wounds as Tsukasa, being ever practically minded was gathering up the horses for the journey back.

As the two combatants began their dance, Zigler fought against the ever increasing pain in his head while dragging both Storm and Tsukasa to the edge of the forest. Both of the men tried their best to escape the dwarf's strong grip and both were smartly hit upon the head for their endeavors until the realization dawned on them that their stockier friend was only trying to get them out of harms way.
Upon reaching the woods a good distance away, though not out of sight of the battle, Zigler uses what little strength he has left to toss Tsukasa high up into a tree, pinning him in the branches while he lasses Storm to the trunk. "Lad," Zigler says to the Samurai, "I know ye'd go ta help the Elvin lass, but 'tis not a fight for the likes of us." As Tsukasa struggles to get down from the tree in vain Zigler simply sits next to his shouting and angry friend, every once and awhile digging in the various pouches around his belt for medicinal roots and powders. Finally, coming up with a handful of nuts he offers one to Aki, "Peanut?"

Meanwhile outside the city walls the small group of would be rescuers gathers around Elestirne, taking in her pathetic appearance and injuries. Aki makes moves to aid the wounded elf when Zigler, being the practical one, and hungry, reaches into a pouch and extracts the elven food the rest of the group had been so concerned about bringing earlier. Taking a small piece of the bread for himself the dwarf tosses the rest to Aki, who catches it mid air and simply stares at it.
Zigler settles to the ground, back supported by a tree, after being exhausted from the long run. He begins to munch idly on the small piece of bread when Telamon's scream reaches the party. Zigler looks towards the city and then doubles over in agony as Telamon's anger floods through their 'link'. An anger so black mortal men do not have a word for it crashes through Zigler's mind as though it were a tidal wave. Zigler's own screams join Telamon's as the demon dwarf grabs his head and falls sideways onto the ground, writhing in pain.

Zigler walked into the pub only to run backward a few steps as a couple of the other patrons rolled around on the floor in an argument. One of the men, a skinny though tall goblin had the last say with a round house punch to the much smaller man's jaw. Once the discourse was over (the man collapsed, knocked out cold) the goblin smiled, untied the the man's purse from his belt and went back to the iron framed bar.
Tip toeing around the fallen human, the Demon Dwarf bellies up to the bar and orders a drink, followed promptly by another one.
Zigler.
The dwarf choked down a swallow and quickly turns in his chair.
"Well where da jeebin hell has ye been horsey!" Shouts Zigler as he tries to pet the creature unsuccessfully. Olore meanwhile avoids the dwarf's pawing hand while trying to get him caught up.
"We need to get through the gate and back to the other who remain out in the forest." Olore nearly shouts as he continues to avoid the Bards hands.
"Ack," replies Zigler, "is that all ye be needin' enow? And not a full pint I've had elsewise, and me and me thirsty throat don'tcha know." Chugging down the remainder of his drink Zigler slams the mug down on the bar. Those in the pub who weren't staring already at the near comical display and one sided conversations of Dwarf and horse paid close attention as Zigler gets up from the bar stool and heads for the door.
"HEY! You paying for these you crazy squirt!" shouts the goblin bar tender.
Turing around Zigler re-approaches the bar lays his hand on the iron edge, closes his eyes and concentrates. A bright flash goes off underneath his hand as the entire piece of iron turns golden before the pub patron's and bar keeps eyes.
"This 'ere should cover that" says Zigler before turning and quickly walking out the door. The horse dissipated and unbeknown to the small group in the pub followed the Dwarf out.

Zigler quickly reaches the running man and shouts, "Keep runnin' laddie, I'll take care o' dem." Without looking back as the two pass each other the dwarf approaches the Orcs. Meanwhile the small band of rescues continues watching the gate, well out of hearing and nearly out of sight behind a slight rise of ground.
"Stop! Whilst yea play with the man, your gates stand open!"
The Orc's slow and the stop, blocked by the short stranger in their path. "Who be this?" says Orc One
"It be smaller than a human" says Orc Two, "It not be green like a goblin"
"Me still be hungry. Let kill it and go eat," demands Orc Three.
Having heard quite enough Zigler approaches the Orc that last spoke. "Kill me just like that eh? I think not." Zigler ducks below the Orcs ham handed grasp and latches a hand onto the creatures shoddy tunic, turning it and everything it touched into lead. Quickly getting out of the way of the falling Orc Zigler spat, "Now! Escort me to the Gates, then guard them well."
The remaining Orcs look at their companion, squirming on the ground unable to get up due to the weight of his own clothing. Orc Two looks at Zigler, from the far side of the group, challenge in his eyes before asking, "Who be the one to give orders to Orcs! That why we make city so Orc no take orders Orc no want!"
The dumb beast begins to raise the club in its hand as Zigler's anger increases. Zigler closes his eyes and looks down, as if in submission until once again the purple fire spreads from the ring on the dwarfs hand. Orc Two takes a step back, surprised as Zigler lets loose the demon powers locked inside him. Raising his head and opening his eyes reveals a brighter flame burning deep inside the dwarf's irises. Zigler quickly ducks below the Orc's clumsy swing and, like the creatures companion before him, grabs the Orc, turning the beings entire body into lead, not jut the its clothing.
As the newly formed lead statue of an Orc falls to the ground Zigler looks at the remaining horde, "Now! Surround me and lets move back to the gates!"
The remaining Orcs do as the dwarf orders, more out of fear than of anything else. The entire group running back towards the gate, Zigler catches glimpses of his friend Aki, still waiting at the tree line and having obviously paid no attention to the Demon Bards actions.
Before heading off into the city behind the tall forms of the Orc's Zigler gives them their final command, "Guard your gate, turn back all that approach......and NO killing!"

"Well lad, I'd say we wait a lil more for yon prey to draw the guards further away from the gates. Then bestin' we use both yer Shogun's AND the Horsey's actions as distractions. If that big 'un be distracted amongst two ways, we be having a better chance o' getting in with lil detection. I say we duck down 'ere an' wait it out.
Suddenly a familair feeling of unease washes over the dwarf and he reaches once again for the roots in his bag as a familiar voice speaks into his mind. In the same mode Zigler responds, "Aye, I'll do what I can. But don't be counting on it to be coming to blows betwixt us."
Zigler looks back at Aki, taking in the warriors obvious concern for the human on the run. "Aki,"says Zigler,"if'n ye be that worried about th' man, I'll be goin' ta see to him and his playmates. Yea best be keepin' a watch on the gate." With that the dwarf stands and begins to run faster then any in their group had ever seen toward the mob of Orc's and like beings, plus the sole human running flat out in front of them......and losing ground.
